Instax Square SQ40 Instant Camera

This camera is a lot nicer than I thought it would be. My expectations are on the floor for anything I buy these days, no matter how expensive, so I was pleasantly surprised by this. It's heavier and higher quality than I thought it would be. I've never had a Fujifilm camera before, and I'm pretty happy with this one. However, I do think it's really more expensive than it should be. I don't appreciate that I had to pay $50 more to get a model that looks like a camera and not a party favor. I think people complaining about photo quality are either too young to remember what instant camera photos looked like or too spoiled by digital camera quality to have perspective on it. Instant film photos have always looked like this. The focus is soft, the exposure is almost never quite on point, and the frame is a little bit to the left of what the viewfinder tells you. That's just how these cameras work.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You either find beauty in it or you don't. For me, it's incredibly nostalgic.

Great product. Used to take photos at a surprise 30th birthday party and then had everyone write messages. We kept photos in dark as they developed and they turned out great. The selfie mirror is also very helpful.

Love this camera! It brings a lot of joy to events and instead of having like 100 pictures that no one ever looks at, you get 3 or 4 that people actually cherish!

Do not expect much from the photo quality. There are the conditions when the photos are perfect, but in the majority of cases it will be blurry. This camera is for the instant creation of memories, more valuable than hundreds of photos on your phone.

Great camera for that retro polaroid experience. Fun party experience and memory maker. The auto exposure and auto focus don't work very well. Many of your pictures will be blurry or over/under exposed. Also, your very melanated friends will NOT look good on this film. It's no replacement for a real camera, or even a cellphone camera, but a nice thing to run in parallel.

This is just as fun as polaroids back in the day. The teenagers love the retro style of the photos. Because you shoot so close, you get super fun close ups. After the holidays we have a pile of great family photos. Highly recommended. The whole point of these is retro so the photo quality will reflect that.

We bought this camera to use for our wedding guestbook and it did not disappoint! Our friends and family had a blast taking pictures for the book! The flash worked to help with lose late night photos and we ended up with a guestbook we’ll never forget!

I bought this camera for my wedding and used it beforehand at my bachelorette this past weekend. Unfortunately all of the pictures came out white washed, with a handful of them blurry. I was really excited about this camera, but for the price of $200 these pictures should definitely not be coming out like this. Definitely nothing like the advertised images in the product description so be careful - that is not what you are getting! Now I have to buy a different brand camera for the wedding :(

I wish the quality was a bit better, but it all depends on the light. It took a bit of practice, for the photos to look good. All things considered I would still buy again as when you learn how to take the pictures, they look cool. My kids love the camera as much as I do

I’ve had Fuji film Polaroid cameras for years. This one came broken. 90% of the pictures are very blurry and unusable. Either the camera was broken or it’s a fake. And I can’t even return it because the film came late and I am out of the return window now 😣

I'm loving this camera! The photos come out with a nostalgic "film" quality which is exactly what I wanted. So far, I have roughly 1/10 failure rate with photos coming out blurry, but I think that may mean I just have to get everyone to sit still longer for the picture.
