I’m really impressed with the GMWD Chest Press Machine. Overall, this machine is smooth, solid, and genuinely a joy to use. The independent converging arms feel great during presses and allow for a very natural range of motion. Once set up, it feels sturdy and well-built, and it’s an excellent addition to a home gym for chest, shoulders, and even some ab work. There were a couple of minor downsides, but nothing that ruined the experience. Some of the arms arrived with dents, and the box didn’t include assembly instructions. That said, customer service was excellent — they quickly provided the instructions so I could start assembling right away and also offered a partial refund for the cosmetic damage, which I really appreciated. The pop pins can be a bit stiff to pull out at times, but for the price point and overall quality, it’s a small trade-off. All things considered, this machine delivers great value for the money. It performs smoothly, feels durable, and is backed by responsive customer support. I’m very happy with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their home gym without breaking the bank.

I wanted to come by and leave a review after having this equipment for over a year. As a 40+ year old active man, I grew sick and tired of the crowded gyms along with young kids sitting on equipment and “influencers” 🤦🏼 in the way. Also, I couldn’t bench press as heavily as before because of shoulder problems. Many reasons being, I decided to build my own mini gym. This piece of equipment has been an AMAZING investment. Able to do an assortment of workouts on it and has been an absolute game changer. If you are like me and looking to do the same but never know what to expect and what is reliable, trust me, this is the way to go. Very sturdy, reliable and if taken care of and not throwing weights on and off recklessly or with excessive force, this machine will last you a long time I can tell! It’s been a blessing using this with every workout in some capacity aside from leg workouts obviously. Also, this review is not incentivized in any way, it seems like so many products are anymore, but this is not. This review is my way of helping anyone looking for something that will change their way of Keeping healthy and active each and every day! 💪 Let’s go!!

This is a fair and un-compensated review. This is a very sturdy and effective bench. I do not hesitate to recommend it. It is far more than a chest press. Its design lends itself to many more exercises. I especially like the space saving design. This works exactly as it should. Some of been critical of the instructions and assembly process. Are the instructions perfect, no. That said they are more than adequate. In places I wish the instructions were clearer, but again it is NO BIG DEAL. It is relatively easy to assemble. Everything lined up as it should and I had no issues with parts or hardware. I am very happy with this purchase. In fact, I purchased the ab machine from GMWD!

My local gym got rid of their machine bench press, replacing it with free weight benching. I much prefer using machines since I don't need anyone to "spot" me on those and it just feels safer altogether, allowing me to use more weight. I therefore looked around for a machine that I could install at home, since benching is one of my favorite exercises. I picked this machine primarily because it was advertised as folding up nicely. That's important to me because I don't have a lot of space to work with. Setup was very easy. The instructions say that you need two people to set it up, but that's really not necessary; I did it all myself in under 30 minutes. There are two sizes of bolts/nuts and you will want to use a ratcheting socket wrench to attach them, since the included wrenches are frankly useless (I actually used two wrenches per attachment which made everything go a lot faster as I could ratchet from both ends). You really need to gronk down the bolts hard so that it's stable. The hardest part of assembly is, ironically, the lightest part -- putting on the bench. This is because the drawings are so tiny that it's difficult to see which holes are for the bolts and which are for the restraining pins. I needed to use a magnifier for that. One other irritation is that the bearings fall out of their sockets pretty easily while you are assembling pieces; there is no lip that keeps them in. There are four of them and they are held in place with cable ties during shipping, but one of mine was missing a tie and the bearing were just loose in the box. Since they are assumed to be in the right place, they aren't referred to in the instructions, so it took me a minute to figure out where they went. Once it was put together, though, it was very stable. I picked up some used Olympic-sized weights from a local sports store and started using it. The armature is incredibly smooth -- actually smoother than the machine that I had been using at the gym. There are weight clips for Olympic-size weights, though you barely need them since the handles are angled up. (It also supports 1" weights, though there are no clips. and I actually recommend the 2" size anyway -- if you don't already have weights -- since they are much easier to put on.) I love this machine so much I am using it every morning, not just on "chest day." It folds up nicely when I'm not using it (see picture), though I tend to only fold up the bench as I prefer to keep the weights on the arms rather than taking them off and putting them on all the time. Besides bench presses, I also do (with the bench folded up) suitcase lifts and shoulder shrugs, and it all feels totally natural. (I haven't tried the foot cushions for situps/crunches yet, since I tend to use an exercise ball for those.) I will probably start using the bench for free-weight bicep curls as well so save my back some pain. I am taking off one star, and while you might think it's because of the assembly issues, it's actually because of the weight storage. Although there's plenty of room on the front of the legs to have placed weight spindles, they are actually placed on the back, and therefore very difficult to get to if your machine is up against the wall. I've ordered a couple of weigh holders that are intended to go on a wall and instead I will just drill them into the front legs to make weight storage more convenient.

Edit: I am changing my 4 star to a 5 star. I reached out to the company concerning the missing handle sleeve. They immediately got back to me and assured me that they would send the sleeve right away. I received the sleeve a couple weeks later. Happy customer and happy with the workouts I have gotten with the chest press machine. Good quality and suitable for home gym. Easy to put together and a space saver. Great for the price. Unfortunately it came with only one handle sleeve. I reached out to the company and they said they would send one out. This was weeks ago and I haven't received a tracking confirmation as promised.

If you like the OG Hammer Strength version of this then you will love this product... For the price it is the best chest machine I have used, feels VERY similar to the Hammer Strength if not identical, with improvements like the height adjustable safty resting posts.... You cant ask for more, decent metal gauge, dual ball bearing arms, support for SOME incline, good for shrugs, even works decent with chains and cable machine handles to do standing curls...

This chest press machine is compact and durable. Very good quality for the price. Works best as a chest press bench but does have some secondary exercises that can be done on this bench. Goes together easily in 45 minutes if you use good tools but a bit longer if using provided tools. Note if the large washers for the arms are installed per the directions with the groves side facing the bearings there will be no wiggle in the arms as shown on some reviews.

No complaints on this one at all. Of course for the price I don’t expect this machine to be strong enough to survive a nuclear bomb lol. You can move the arms to the sides if you put strength on it and could possibly bend it, but who the heck works out like that??😂 gotta go read a book if you somehow break this machine. This machine is fantastic, it holds so much weight and really hits the pectorals. There are many levels to the protective bars to lay the arms in once you’re finished working out. You will NEVER need a spotter with this. The machine is very comfortable while working out and is very easy to use and understand. There were no missing parts at all and assembly was very easy with easy to read instructions. I was able to adapt to this machine very quick and easy and you can actually do many exercises with it. I use it for bench pressing and then to work out my back as well. Versatility is good

This is a solid chest press machine for a home gym at a reasonable price! The converging arms feel very smooth when pressed. The height is adjustable, and you can use a flat position or set the bench for a slight incline to alternate arms. The bench also folds up. Don't expect to do shoulder presses, though, as the angle is too far forward. There are also ankle peg pads behind the bench for decline sit-ups, which work well, but you will need to place yoga blocks, foam, or something soft between the rack and your shins to make it comfortable. Putting it together was straightforward with the instructions; it only took me about an hour once everything was laid out. Overall, a great chest press machine!

This machine is very simple and feels sturdy and robust. No squeaking, cracking or scratching noises. The two arms are sturdy and if you tighten the screws properly, you won't get any "loose" or sideways moving of the arms (as other reviews pointed out). I do suggest using power tools to assemble this product. The machine when folded takes very little space, once again not to sure why people complain about that.... as long as you don't expect a 6000$ value out of it, this machine will satisfy you 100% for the price. Finally, i didn't find any noticeable difference between this machine and the chest press that you would find in a commercial gym. Works as good as any "hammer strength" machine for less money.

Putting it together took a good 45-1hr with a drill(quicker) it looks great and is very sturdy, built well and a good size a bit of a tight fit for a bigger guy but still good. The only thing I have issue with is a couple of spots have plastic coverings, had to worn the guys not to be rough putting weights off and on, but overall this machine moves very smooth and easy to transition from one move to another. Good value for your money, great overall performance from this machine.
