Best hammer for climbing
I climb with this hammer and it has a comfortable handle. Best hammer I own. Its nice to have a hammer that only requires one swing to get the job done along with knowing it wont fall apart after a year of use. I use this hammer for building steel structures for staging and would highly recommend this brand for those serious about buying a tool once.

more power to pound when on the go !!
solid hammer and bought on sale with the Prime deals... sometimes the 3 or 4 pound mallet doesnt do the job first strike while on the go projects... 5 star because of quality, but handle could be 12 inches instead of the 16 .. six pounds takes a steady strong arm to use as a hammer style pounding method... you need short handle to fit in tool box on the go verses the longer 30 inch or 24 inch.... well worth purchase as was 50 percent off on prime deal day !! WOW,, thank you amazon !!

Great tool!
This hammer is awesome! It really is shock resistant, even when hitting thick steel. Best sledge I've ever had!

It performs as advertised.
I just tried my new 16 inch sledge hammer to split some firewood with a wedge and also with a standing splitter with ring. Result is there is a huge difference between a 14 inch and a 16 inch sledge even though they both have a 4 lb. heads. I am very pleased with it even though it was a little pricey but those two inches matter greatly with the impact force. The hammer looks well built and sturdy and the larger wood chunks have no chance of not splitting. Very much fun.

Wilton sledgehammer unbreakable handle
Great little sledgehammer. Plus, if you break the handle legitimately on this sledgehammer they will give you $1,000.00 from Wilton.

The Bash is one solid sledgehammer
I liked my Wilton Sledgehammer as it performed exceptional, so I purchased their hammers in other weights. The handles are incredible smooth to handle and absorb some of the hammering impact. Since the handles aren't made from wood, they won't warp or split over time. The steel heads are strong and haven't cracks or chipped to date. I've been using them in an open pit agate mine wherein I've been removing large rocks by splitting them with hammer and chisel. These are by far the best hammers I've ever used. I've read other reviews stating that the balance was off on certain hammers, but the real issue is: take care in selecting the appropriate hammer-head weigh versus the handle length for your applications and your own arm strength. If you use those parameters in selecting your sledgehammer, you will find the right item. I have not been paid by Amazon or Wilton to review these items favorably. I love this product line and will order other weights in the near future. They are expensive compared to other sledgehammers, but worth the price based on their superb quality and balance. Buying cheap is more expensive long-term, and quality tools outperform there cheaper counterparts in many instances.

Concrete Crusher – But Rubber Face Didn’t Last One Slab
This 10 lb Wilton BASH sledgehammer is built like a tank. I used it to take down a 4-inch thick concrete driveway, and it absolutely delivered. Within a few swings, the concrete was cracking apart. 🟢 Build Quality: The steel core and handle are rock solid. I didn’t feel any flex or looseness even after heavy pounding. 🟢 Ease of Use: Despite being 10 lbs, the balance is perfect. It swings smooth and lands hard without tiring you out too quickly. ⚖️ Weight: Heavy enough to break thick slabs, but still manageable for extended use. 💲 Value for Money: You get serious demolition power for the price. It's a professional-grade tool that makes light work of tough jobs. 🔧 Functionality: It works — just pick it up and swing. No gimmicks. Cracks concrete, breaks rocks, you name it. 📏 Handle Length: The long handle gives excellent leverage. I’m 6' and I didn’t feel like I needed to adjust or reposition. ⚠️ Downside – Rubber Face Came Off Immediately: Here’s the one issue: The rubber cap on the striking face tore up after the very first slab. Now it’s just the steel core hitting concrete. Still works, but there’s no more shock absorption, Its fell of like 4 strikes in could have just been a flaw. If Wilton offered an easy replacement cap for this model, I’d bump it up to 5 stars — no question.
