Decotacks are well made. I believe they are coated with some sort of clear coat. They're not shiny but just coated I suppose to wear better. The posts are really strong and do not bend when you hammer them, and I really applied a lot of pressure. They did not bend. Well worth the money, great plastic case with sturdy locks to keep them from falling out of the case and they even give you a measuring tape. One side has inches and the other is spaced for even placement for the tacks. Really happy with them. I would suggest getting the plastic handled device that will hold four tacks at once to help ensure your evenly spacing them. It is difficult to keep them in a straight line. Nothing to do with the tacks, just my lack of skill.

I updated and older sofa loveseat by pulling off the skirt and tacking along the arms and the skirt line for a more updated look. The tax or a package dwell in a nice plastic container, good quality and easy to work with. before, and after photos are shown.

It took me a while to figure out how to best use these, and now they're installing quickly and easily. First I pound in a nail that's the same diameter of the tack, a little. Just far enough to give the tack a foothold. Then I use my hammer (not a rubber mallet-it actually caused more bending) and gently tap the tack all the way in. There's no deformation of the tack's head. They are quite strong. Once I started installing them this way, I've had very few failures. It sounds like it would take a long time, but you get into a groove, and it goes very quickly.

I wasted time and money on cheap nailheads for an antique upholstery job, which I was ready to scrap. After a deep dive on Amazon, I found these nailheads with the same design but a much stronger post and firm head. I was able to use my needle nose pliers to pinch the post without it bending, and the sharp point went neatly and easily through a thick brocade.

The hammer is not strong enough for the upholstery taxis.
