Replacement car key housing use for car radio auto key/folding Key – mouse – optical – 3 buttons for Citroen C4 C5 C6 C8

Ideal replacement and fitted perfect for me. I've read other reviews about it being the incorrect case for the internal PCB - this is down to the customer to order the correct case for them. The case came with a new/uncut key, so it was just a case of gently tapping the pin out of the arm mechanism and putting my original key onto this new part - push fit, then knock the pin back into place. It didn't come with the Citroen sticker for the case but the recess is ready for a sticker to be fitted, so it was a case of removing the original sticker from my old case and sticking it into the recess on the new case. Job done. It looks completely fine and feels of a decent quality. Overall very pleased with the case and for the price paid. The only bit of advice I would give is be careful not to knock or dis-lodge the push button for the spring arm mechanism (like I sort of did), as I managed to do this and release the tension and the spring came out, I managed to catch all parts though.... It will refit and actually quite easy once figured out, but it could be a bit of a pain for someone with little patience. A much better option than paying £120 for a new complete unit, when it's only the case required.

Excellent replacement for the original fob can't tell the difference and everthing transfered over easily.

I was quite sceptical about this product but having broken case I thought I had nothing to lose. This case comes with a blank blade which obviously has to be swapped for the new blade and your circuit board with battery put in the new case. There were no instructions but I found the easiest way to replace the blade was to carefully knock out the small split pin from the existing blade waggle it free of pivot block do the same with the blank and swap the blades and knock the pin back in. I didn't want to mess about with all the tiny plastic pieces in the spring mechanism. Its very fiddly though and you want a vice with something that'll serve as a 1mm punch. Anyway it did the job for very little money.

I own a 2008 C4 and was annoyed that my plastic key fob was worn through making it difficult to use, after going to a Citreon garage I was gob smacked at the cost of a replacement until a friendly rep told me if it's only the case of the fob that's worn out, go on to Amazon and you can get one for a few pounds. The fob comes with a blank blade which I would not advise you try and get cut as no one will cut them, it makes more sense to swap the blank blade with the original blade. Ok the blade is a little awkward to exchange, however by going on the internet and following the advice on YouTube it's easy enough to do. First of all open the unit with a flat blade screwdriver with a quick twist. Then open out the blade and grip with a small vice or pliers, locate the small roll pin and tap out with a one mil punch remembering to keep the pin safe. I used a punch from a watch repair kit. Wriggle the blade free. Do the same with the old key fob. Swap the blade over, line up the hole and tap in the pin. Exchange the circuit board and snap the unit together, Mine worked perfect and works great saving me over a hundred pounds quoted for a new fob. However remember this only works as long as it's only the case that's damaged or worn, if the circuit board is damaged or the key blade, then you have no choice but to put your hands in your pocket and by a new one.

I HAVE NOW RECEIVED THIS ITEM AFTER WAITING MORE THAN A MONTH. IT WORKS IN THE SENSE THAT THE OLD REMOTE CONTROL WORKS, BUT THE CASING DOES NOT ACCEPT MY OLD KEY BLADE, BEING OF SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DESIGN. BETTER THAN NOTHING, BUT NOT MARVELLOUS.

The only good thing i can say about this item is its looks. As for transferring the blade from my old one to this one, complete waste of time as the blade will not fit into the case holes, also no instructions on how to remove the blade from this key fob causing me to damage it, which means that i can not return it for a refund. Not happy with this purchase and wouldnt recommend buying one .

Look at the little pin inside the case. There are different versions of the case. The one I needed has the pin placed as shown in the picture of the product, but the one I received has the pin at another place. So the product didn't match the description and couldn't be used. :-( But I didn't care using money for shipping to return such a cheap product, so instead I tried to mount the soft part (buttons) of the replacement case into the old case (that is what really needed replacement). And I did it by cutting two guide pin on the soft part, as well as some parts of the old case, and I made it fit. So, not optimal, but better than the old used case anyway.

Brilliant item, arrived within 2 days of ordering. The metal part on my current Key had sheared off (see photo) getting the pin out to replace the blade was a bit of a faff, but with a bit of brute force out it popped. Easily replaced. saved myself a fortune as a replacement key would have been £100+
