Black Diamond Raven Ultra Ice Axe

Enough said, worked as expected and was my constant companion during my Mt. Rainier summit. I thought it seemed a bit short for me (I followed the recommendations). I am 5'8" and bought the 55 CM. Once I arrived to the training session, the guide was more worried about the guys with too long and axe.Scratched up a bit (less than expected), but awesome battle scars!

These are great axes very light weight which makes you want to carry it along in the just in case situation. My husband and I each have one. The only thing i don't prefer on it is the angle of the point at the bottom. it requires me to hold my axe the opposite direction f what feels right to me when climbing steep snow. great for going down. The dis advantage of not having a semetrical point

This feels really light and good in the hand. It seems a bit unwieldy, but it makes quick work of ice blocks when serving drinks. Make a good conversation starter, and eliminated a potential problem when my neighbors decided to crash my party.

重たく長いﾋピッケルが嫌になったので，新調しました。用途は，バックカントリーで急斜面を登る時用です。昔と違い，歩く時の杖はストックを使用するので，ピッケルは急斜面専用となるので，なるべく軽いことが大切と思い，これを購入しました。急斜面専用と考えれば，身長168㎝で55㎝をチョイスして正解だったような気がします。軽さで優るカンプのコルサと比較し最後まで悩みなしたが，コストパフォーマンスのよさと，ブレード部分の仕上げの良さで選択しました。同時購入で「ブラックダイヤモンド　スライダーリーシュ BD32300」を購入し取り付けましたが，55㎝のピッケルにつける時は最も短く調整する必要がありました。

長くて重い従来品からの買い替えで購入しました。軽いけど短い物の使い心地は社業と家業が忙しく、今シーズンは試せていません。今年2回行って2回共完遂出来ていない春の白馬大雪渓が初舞台と考えています。
