I have sensitive skin that's prone to hormonal acne breakouts. I had amazing, clear skin in my teens, only to develop acne in my 20s/30s - FUN! In an effort to treat the acne, I used way too many products that broke down my skin's natural barrier which contributed to having inflamed skin that was even MORE acne prone. It took me a couple years to figure this out (ugh!) but I finally decided to start over from square 1 and strip my skincare routine back to the super basics and cut all actives out so my routine was 2-3 steps max - double cleansing if I wore makeup (using Farmacy Green Clean for makeup removal), followed up by a gentle fragrance-free creamy cleanser, followed by a THICK layer of this moisturizer. When I tell you that this moisturizer changed my skin in every way possible, I'm not exaggerating! It has been AMAZING. My skin LOVES it. It's never irritated my skin, and it has been the singlehanded largest contributor to repairing my skin barrier. I RARELY have a single pimple, let alone deal with a mass breakout. My skin glows, and because the barrier is much healthier now, it doesn't get inflamed and angry at the slightest change in my diet, sleep schedule, air quality, travel, etc. All in all, it FEELS so good on your skin. It soaks in over time but doesn't leave a sticky residue. It is also very affordable compared to most other moisturizers. It works. I'm a lifetime convert to La Roche-Posay!

I have eczyma on my hands and I have to be very careful of what I put on my skin. It isn't too thick or too thin. My skin is soft soft soft after just one application! Very effective! It is a bit costly. I also use this brands face lotion and I have never had such soft facial skin. I used to use Olay for my face but have now switched! This has less ingredients that are bad for you.

Excellent lotion for severely dry skin. I use every time I was my hands and daily, after bathing, as a full body moisturizer and my skin looks healthy and supple. While some complain about residual oiliness, I suggest that they don’t have severely dry skin. This formula is medium thick, spreads easily and absorbs quickly, but is made to repair skin that is very dry to extremely dry—skin that may peel or get ashy with the slightest drop of water or in very dry climates. If you are fortunate enough not to need Rx lotion to moisturize your skin, I’d suggest using a different formula. I use this instead of the $600 prescription strength hydro foam. The price of this alternative is reasonable because it lasts me more than a couple of months. I even buy a TSA-approved mini size to keep in my bag. If your skin needs special care, this lotion is hard to beat without a prescription.

This lotion has been the only product that has helped repair my skin barrier on my face, hydrates, protects, and prevents further breakouts. I have sensitive skin that breaks out due to stress, allergies, etc. and this lotion paired with La Roche Rosay gentle face wash has changed my skin and helped it become so much more healthy. It is soothing, gentle, hydrating, and evens skin tone while helping the barrier be healthy and less prone to imbalances that cause breakouts and eczema. The only complaint is that the pump does not get all of the product (there is a lot in the bottle!) so towards the end you must remove the cap to get the remainder of the prodcut. It has a milky consistency that spreads and absorbs into the skin nicely without peeling throughout the day.

I used to use the thicker variant under advice from my dermatologist. However, I much prefer this now - it's light and feels very refreshing while still keeping my skin soft and moisturized.

And that's a big deal. For a guy who only used the body lotions from hotel bathrooms, buying a body moisturizer is a big step. I did a quick "Best Men's Body Moisturizer" Google search, which turned up La Roche-Posay in the Top Five of comparisons in Men's Health, Esquire, and The New York Times. That's good enough for me. The price was a little more than I wanted to spend, but it's been worth it. I only apply it to my arms and shoulders, ankles, calves, thighs and butt---the driest spots on my body during the winter. It goes on easily, has no scent, and dries fairly quickly. And my skin looks and feels better for a couple of days. Given that I'll only use it during cold weather months, it should last awhile.
