Like always, this model kit was a pleasant surprise. The price I paid for the amount of time (and enjoyment) I got from assembly was very well worth it. That's par for the course, and typically when I'm rating their kits, I'm going to be giving most of them a 4 or 5 star rating depending on how much I liked the kit. This one gets 5. And there were even some issues. The first thing, though, is that the kit involves elements I've not seen much in these types of kits, and I especially don't do well with string. The instructions on how to use the string were so clear that even though I had to study them for a while to understand what was being communicated, it would have been pretty hard to get it wrong. As far as difficultly level goes, I'd put this at about an 8 on a 10-scale. It was extremely challenging, and I did use some glue. Quite a bit, actually. It looks very nice when completed, though it is fragile. I'm not sure how long it will last with three cats in the house.

This was a nice addition to my UGears collection of small models. I've been building models and puzzles for decades, UGears is my favorite kit maker. Read ahead, be patient, feel free to use glue if you want. Satisfying build

he seemed to like it but has not put it together yet because he is finishing another model. i puzzle came on time well packaged and I am excited to see it finished. i figured this would be a good rainy day project for him and me solitude.

I've put together many dozens of models, and built many projects from scratch. This kit was well designed, well marked, and made from quality parts/cuts.

I have assembled many Ugears puzzles and this is the less pieces I have done. The puzzle boards are clearly marked, a few extra pieces, and no glue required. Ugears use a thicker ply board than most puzzles so be sure to use the sandpaper and wax stick to ease assembly. The sails are pre perforated so easy to install the paper sails. This is a beautiful little boat and has a dingy and surfboard that attach. The kit is very reasonably priced for Ugears. The only reason for deducting one star as one board splintered but not enough to affect the pieces. This is not the case with all the other Ugear kits I have assembled. Use the helper tool one board one, it really does help in removing pieces.
