No harsh chemicals - best product on the market!
I absolutely love my GreenPan waffle maker! From the moment I unboxed it, the quality stood out โ it feels solid, well-built, and thoughtfully designed. The non-stick coating works exactly as advertised โ waffles slide out easily with no sticking and clean-up is a breeze. It heats up quickly and distributes heat evenly, so every waffle comes out golden and perfectly cooked. Whether Iโm making thick Belgian waffles or thinner breakfast-style ones, the results are consistently great. The cool-touch handle and indicator lights make it easy to use, even for beginners.I also appreciate the easy maintenance โ a quick wipe with a damp cloth and itโs ready for next time. Given the performance and durability, the price feels very reasonable compared to other waffle makers Iโve tried.

Best waffle maker I've used!
I've tried a lot of waffle makers over the last several years, including cheap ones from big-box stores that I actually thought worked quite well. But I wanted something with removable plates to make things easier to clean, and I wanted to avoid Teflon and similar coatings. I tried a cheaper waffle maker (Hamilton Beach ceramic with removable plates) that met these criteria but cooked waffles poorly, perhaps due to being under-powered. I had wanted to try this GreenPan waffle maker for some time, but the high price turned me off for a while -- but after deciding I had enough of the others, I gave it a try, and I'm glad I did! This is the best waffle maker I have used. I'd certainly expect something good at this price, and it didn't disappoint. It met all of my criteria -- removable plates, no Teflon/PTFE/etc., adjustable cook settings -- and makes some of the best-cooked waffles I've made. (Really, some cheap ones did a good job here, too, but some were a bit uneven, perhaps areas where the heating element didn't quite cover as well. Not this one!) The built-in timer is nice and seems to be accurate based on the settings you can adjust (waffle type, texture, and color -- or manual settings), it comes with both classic and Belgian plates that are removable and easy-to-clean, and both sets of plates have a little extra area around the sides to catch overflow, keeping the unit itself easy to clean as well. The biggest disadvantage compared to other units I've used is that this one is a bit small and takes a bit longer to cook than some others (over 5 minutes, depending on settings--I've had some cook in as little as 3 or so in cheap ones I can't adjust anything on), but whatever they've figured out with temperature and time seems to be a winning combination, so I can't complain about the results. Two of these square waffles are about like one of the larger round waffles I've made in some other machines. They make a four-square unit if you wanted to try more at once, but I didn't want to deal with the added expense or space I'd need to store that. The only other odd thing is that while the unit claims to have storage for the extra set of pans, it's not quite what you'd think: it's basically hook/bar on the bottom of the unit you can nestle the plates on while you are storing the unit (they made it sound like it might be something hidden *in* the unit you could keep there while you're using it; you really have to remove them before you set it on the counter to use). This is not practical for me, so I just keep the plates somewhere else. All things considered, I'm glad I finally sprung for this unit and wish I would have done so sooner.

Great Waffle Maker
I purchased this as a gift for my daughter and family and they love it! It's so well constructed, comes apart easily for cleaning, and makes delicious waffles. I purchased this model because many of the other brands are coated in chemicals.

Finally found a classic waffle maker!
I was searching for a classic waffle maker for years after my mom threw away our old one from the 90s without telling us. Despite the price tag on this and some of the negative reviews I decided to try it out. I was not disappointed at all.I read the booklet (like anyone should do before using a product for the first time) and after cleaning it as instructed, I went to using it. Pictures are me using basic bisquik mix and I sprayed the plates with avocado oil. NOT cooking spray. At mid settings for texture and and a setting of 4 for color those were my results. I have used it 3 times since purchasing it 2 weeks ago and had no issues. My next use will be trying out the belgian plates.I also froze some of what I made and popped them in the toaster a week later and they were great. For those with kids or large families who want to save some time on a weekend morning this is great! In 5 minutes you have 4 squares made. I did not encounter any problems regarding leaking, the moat did great at catching excess batter. The plates are easy to pop off and clean which is a huge plus for me. As makers without removable plates are hard to keep clean forever.I do have one concern regarding longevity and that is in regards to the hinge. I worry that will break from repeated use but I'll do my best to be careful of that. Beyond that I really recommend this for those looking for versatility in their waffles.

Overall good, a few annoying quirks
Great nonstick. Great waffles. A bit finicky with the auto timer start and then manual start is the same button as the start/off so it often likes to choose the off function instead of start which is annoying. Pour batter in the two nearest sections first and itโs pretty good about auto starting the timer. If it doesnโt, I recommend just doing your own instead of risking the start button that is more often actually turn off, then goes to on, and then start, which goes to preheat.

Dangerous design error
Initially so happy to have found a waffle iron with removable plates, without poisonous anti-stick stuff, but ceramic coating instead, for "classic" (not so deep as Belgian) waffles. I bought several other ceramic waffle irons in the past, but none worked really well. This one worked great! Until... after using it just 6 times, I was about to pour batter onto the plate, when the sizzling searingly hot top plate dropped from the open lid, barely missing my hand, falling down with a loud bang on my kitchen table! I had securely clicked the plate in place on the day I received the wafflemaker and had used it fine until then. After it had cooled down, the plate would no longer stay put in the lid, no matter what I tried. I then tried the other set of plates (the Belgian ones) but these had the same issue. The plate appeared to click in place, but one second after opening the lid the plate came loose again.I inspected it further, and it turned out the design to keep the plate in place is a bad design: It relies on a tiny L shaped piece of metal in the lid, that is supposed to move aside and then click behind the clip on the back of the plate. That L shape is not sturdy enough. It wont withstand the force to push a plate in place as indicated by the manual. Instead it was bend inwards, so it wont grip the clip of the plate anymore. I recalled a retail store had a showmodel, that also had a plate that didn't stay in place, but I attributed that to being misused by many customers playing around with it. Well, was I wrong! I clicked the plate in place only ONCE, and that was seemingly enough to bend the metal hook in the lid. OR maybe it was never properly created in the first place. A $250 - $300 appliance! I'd expected it to be better designed than this.See pictures to further clarify. My quest for the perfect waffle maker unfortunately continues...

Love the waffle maker. Easy to use and clean

FABULOUS waffle maker! Non-tox!
Absolutely worth the money! I have waited to purchase this for about 1.5-2 years unsure if I wanted to pay that much for a waffle pan. However, I have kids that love a big weekend breakfast and have been asking for waffles for forever. Other waffle makers I have bought in the past have a horrible metallic taste left over from all the chemicals, so much so that I had to throw them out. Love that Green Pan is PFAS free and there is no nasty taste! Just perfectly cooked waffles! 10/10 in my book!
