Is there oil that needs to be used on the board after cleaning?

No, just wash with water and dry. I’m very happy with it.

How does the back side look like? Is it plastic or flat wood with no grove?

The cutting board is solid wood, very heavy. It has a complete groove around the edges to collect the juices from food on one side and the other side is completely flat without a groove. A slight split has started to appear on my board, but in all a good quality board that will last.

Is this dishwasher safe?

Put mine in the dishwasher for 5 years.
