20V MAX* Belt Sander, Cordless, Brushless, Tool Only (DCW220B)

Most (95%) of my hand tools are made by Dewalt and this unit replaced a cord and plug connected belt sander (not a De Walt) that I overheated to the point where it is unusable. I have not used this new De walt belt sander much, but the little that I have used this unit, and not having a cord is wonderful and operates smoothly and while I have been told that it eats batteries, I really don't care because I have plenty of Dewalt batteries in my workshop. So, in my opinion, this is a wonderful unit that is made well and was worth the money and it operates very quietly.

Great portable belt sander. Powerful, moderately heavy with the battery. DeWalt hand tools are good quality.

I had two older belt sanders, both corded and the same 6" belt, but always had problems with the cord getting in the way and have several electric tape fixes on the cords. Wanted a powerful belt sander for sanding down the wood siding our our roof deck (Lion wood), to re-seal it with IPE oil (made a mistake and used Spar Varnish and it just peeled off). This tool worked great, I have several DeWalt batteries so as one ran out could just swap it out for another 20v battery and keep on going. Only bad thing is it's heavy, so working on a flat surface is easy, but holding it up on the wall was a bit tough, but liked the dust bag, caught most of the dust I created (still ware a mask), but easy to empty and good capasity. I like the tool, would recommend it especially if you have other DeWalt battery tools! (I have 3 DeWalt drills, and cordless saw).

I've been using this DEWALT belt sander mainly in the garage for smoothing rough wood before painting. it’s lightweight and fairly easy to handle, which is a bonus when working on larger pieces. the brushless motor seems to give good power without draining the battery too fast. on the flip side, the tool doesn't come with a battery or charger, so you'd need to have those on hand already. overall, it’s been a helpful addition for my DIY projects, especially when I don’t want to mess around with corded models.

No cord, No cord, No cord! First ever cordless belt sander for me and now am selling all my others. The cord was always in the way and I've had to replace several cords because of that. This unit is plenty powerful and with only a 4Ah battery ran for nearly an hour of start/stop cabinet work. The lack of a cord gives unprecedented maneuverability and no surprise cord-pulls during sanding strokes. Would like to see Dewalt make these a bit quieter as they seem noisy for such a small unit.

I own corded belt sanders and use when I have a big job like sanding a big deck. I use this battery powered sander for the small quick jobs. The dewalt 20v belt sander is excellent. Very powerful and does a quick job. Don't expect this sander to do big jobs unless you have many batteries charged up. I love the convenience of not having to find a power outlet.

I finally ordered the Dewalt belt sander when it went on sale for $239.00 , it was the lowest price i've seen so far on Amazon and i couldn't hold back at that price. For what it's worth, i already have the whole collection of Dewalt and Porter Cable 20v tools and this was the only missing item.It retails for $369 at my local Home Depot so this purchase was a no brainer. Not too impressed with the way the dust bag is attached but if it does it's purpose i can live with it. The tracking adjustment seems spot on , we'll see if it stays like that after prolonged use, and from what i read this unit is pretty hungry for batteries , i alrady have two 5A batteries but will purchase a few more if necessary. I'll update my review after using this sander for a few hours.

I used this to sand / level some areas of a deck substructure. It did the job very well. The alignment did move around so you need to watch it, but it is very easy to maintain with the small knob on the side of the unit. I haven't used it on fine work yet, but I don't see any reason for it not to perform there as well. I had no problem with my 5 Ah battery running out for the ~ 2 hours duration (but it wasn't running all of the time either).

Au final ça revient plus cher que dans une quincaillerie.
