As and older person with an autoimmune disease I occassionally need a thermometer due to running low grade fevers from time to time.This past week we were quite sick over the last few weeks I ran a low-mid grade fever. The first night I woke with a fever and grabbed our current low frill digital thermometer. I quickly realized our current digital thermometer has a grey background and dark grey numbers. I have only used it in light so it can't be seen without turing a light on. I wasn't thrill having to turn on a light in the middle of the night because my bed partner (also sick) would wake. I had to drag myself up out of my cozy nest of blankets just to read my temperature.I purchased this thermometer (within minutes of figuring this problem out) on Amazon around 11:45, choosing Prime's overnight option (having like 12 minutes to make the midnight deadline). It was delivered before first light because during the night it was delivered. Admittedly, I live 5 minutes from the warehouse in my area but I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Because in addition to being able to see the softly lit screen (thst isn't in anyway bothersome in the dark) I could also check my husband's temperature in a few seconds because he's not at all interested in knowing -- being one of those "I'll just be sick or dead" people.This product can be held within 1.5" from the body and captures an accurate reading because I used two of our old thermometers to check. The unit will light green if within normal range, yellow slightly elevated or low grade, red if fever OR low temp.Because I'm not sure how many people are aware of the concerning nature a low temp can be I was impressed that the unit isn't merely measuring with a result of green as anything below a certain number but the actually widely agreed upon numbers that make up the "normal" range.As an older adult (mid 50s) with an autoimmune disease I occassionally have a low temperature (in addition to running low grade fevers all the time). Which was the case in the days after my being ill this past time. I ran a fever 3 days then within days my body temp dropped. As per my doctor I contacted they're office right away.I'm noting this because a low temperature can be quite concerning. This is a great feature.

This is a genuinely decent thermometer. I initially ordered Dr. Vaku, whose rating was 4 and the quality of Dr. Vaku Infra Red Thermometer was pathetic. The readings were inaccurate and all the time different. Moreover, many a times, like 6 out of 10, Dr. Vaku's thermometer would give no reading, simply beeping and showing "LO". Man, I went for this device post returning Dr. Vaku and this device, having an average rating of 4.5ish was amazing. The thermometer came in a decent velvet packaging inside the box, adding to a premium feel. The buttons are great as well, more like a remote kind of feeling, in contrast to Dr. Vaku whose button quality was extremely inferior. Please, go for this and you are not going to regret.
