Wonderful. Wish I had it years ago.
I love this pan. Have thrown out my nonstick pans and just use this. Already had a lid which is useful. Make sure you prove it first. Expensive but worth it.

Out Of The Frying Pan Into The Fissler
At £155.90 for a frying pan without a lid and without even a non-stick surface, it is immediately apparent that this particular kitchen utensil is not one of your standard pots'n'pans; this is for those who take their cooking very seriously and is aimed at the kitchen connoisseur for whom quality is paramount in the culinary field. With a 28cm diameter and made of 100% Stainless Steel this is a large and fairly deep frying/braising/sauté pan, and accordingly weighs in at a pretty hefty 1.83 kilograms. The finish is impeccable, as is all of the construction; the rivets attaching the handle do not intrude into the inner of the pan, leaving the inside perfectly smooth and even. The base, which is responsible for much of the weight - which ensures that it is a very stable pan - is so designed and constructed as to absorb and disseminate heat evenly, and can be used on all types of hob including induction.Of course, not having a non-stick coating means that you don't want to be using excessive heat to cook with unless you want to spend as much time scouring pans after a meal as you spent cooking it in the first place.Being constructed of Stainless Steel does however means that you can use as much Elbow Grease as necessary in cleaning. It is dishwasher safe and is ovenproof up to a temperature of 220°C (428°F in old money). In this type of cooking vessel the even and steady absorption, maintenance and distribution of heat equally is of paramount importance, and ensuring optimum performance in this respect is what is responsible for a large chunk of the price. A particularly useful feature of this pan is the gauge on the inside which features lines to mark fluid levels in half litre steps, up to 2 litres. The pan also features a lip around the rim that allows accurate and non-drip pouring from the pan. The hollow stay-cool handle features the ubiquitous hole at the end, which is flattened and enables the pan to be hung up from a hook if so desired. For those for whom a frying pan is little more than the means by which to fry one's breakfast eggs this pan would represent a monstrous waste of money, but for the gastronome who desires top quality utensils that allow fine control over the process, with specific qualities for specific culinary demands, I suspect that this would swiftly become an essential item of kitchenware. At this price it will never be regarded as a "bargain", but once acquired it is robust and solid enough that it is unlikely to ever need replacing. Thus looking at the cost in light of an item that could well outlast its owner it begins to look more reasonable. This is definitely not for the casual cook, but definitely one for those connoisseurs most committed to the culinary arts.

A superb quality, heavy beast of a pan
With my cooking, the frying pan is the basic workhorse, probably the most used yet most undervalued of the pens in my set. Not any more, now it’s the star of the show thanks to this. This is a very high quality piece of equipment. It has an induction-safe base, but being (seemingly) stainless steel it happily goes over flames too. It’s beautifully weighted and lovely to hold. It weighs 1.7Kg even when it’s empty, so it’s not for the weak wristed- this is a heavy beast of a pan. If you’ve got the strength, it tosses pancakes like a dream. The lip to the rim makes for easy pouring, and the measuring marks are clear but unobtrusive.Being metal, it's a little more challenging when washing up than the non-stick pans I'm used to, but I believe it’s dishwasher safe, if your dishwasher can handle it.The handle is a wonder of modern technology. Despite looking like one piece, with no seams that you can see or feel, there’s a definite temperature-blocking gap between the pan and then handle, and there’s no heat transfer at all. It feels wonderfully secure and very comfortable to hold. The hole for hanging is 15mm diameter, so it will hang on most existing hooks, if that’s your storage solution. This is a very nice frying pan indeed. I can’t find any fault with it. It’s clearly going to be a durable companion for many years, and it’s also going to encourage me to do more cooking, and more adventurous cooking. My days of lacklustre and basic frying are behind me!

Superb quality German engineering
Fissler is one of the top German countries for kitchen appliances and implements. This is a very high quality, heavy duty and very well made stainless steel frying pan. If you want an alternative to non-stick / anodised / enamelled products, then look no further. Excellent heat distribution and doesn't really have a 'sticking' problem, if you get it hot before frying and use it sensibly - i.e. not letting food go dry or having the heat up too high. My trial took place on a gas hob but it seems to work on all others. Highly recommended and easy to clean. This takes a standard glass or metal 28cm lid.

Very good but oh so expensive
This is a very high quality stainless steel pan but I suspect aimed at people with more money than sense. We have had a similar pan by Meyer for over twenty years and it still performs just like this one but for a lot less money. That said its a very good pan, the weight means that it takes a little longer to heat up than a regular pan but the heat is distributed very evenly with no hot spots providing an efficient cooking experience. Nothing sticks at all unless you abuse it and leave it unattended. These pans are very easy to clean and most cooking marks will wipe off with just water. Previous experience with the Meyer shows that even if you do burn something onto the bottom it will clean easily with a short soak. The pan is constructed with a lip that aids easy pouring and has a graduated scale on to the inside for measuring liquids. It has a 10" long handle which looks a bit odd but helps to prevent it getting hot.At this price you would expect to get a lid as well but if you're buying this to impress your foodie friends that won't really matter.

What a disappointment! Everything sticks!
I expected this to be a good investment. Instead, it's a poor substitute for the beat-up pan it replaced. Doesn't seem to matter how I prepare the pan. Everything sticks. I'm beyond disappointed given that this was an expensive purchase.

Lovely product !!!
Purchased this 24cm to replace my Tramontina professional 25cm frying pan. This is my first Fissler cookware and the craftsmanship is gorgeous! Solid, beautiful and weighs just nice. Can't wait to try it out tomorrow - thanks Chef's Arsenal for the very quick shipping !!
