Faber-Castell Black Edition Skin Tone Colored Pencils, 12 Count

Literally some of my favorite colored pencils of all time. It's the colors, I've bought these pencils no joke like 10 times. The pastel purple #792, pink #790, cream #789, and the pale baby blue #793 are my go to pastel colors. They are perfect especially the purple and cream. Bright, creamy, and so pretty. I wish they were better quality, one of the reasons I've bought them so often is not only are they cheap they break so easy and the cores are hard and sometimes takes layers to build up color. But these colors are still perfection and I wish so bad they would make polychromos quality versions of the exact colors.

Excellent colored pencils. Easy to hold, nice color saturation, blendable, slightly eraseable. They are not super metallic-y. Extra shine/sheen, but may not be enough for your project. Good for adult coloring books. NOT juvenile glittery sparkly.

I do love these colored pencils. The price was right, the colors are great. I was expecting them to be a little brighter on the black paper.

I must say, Im really impressed with these pencils. I was hesitant after watching and reading reviews and Im glad I took a chance. I followed a bubble drawing tutorial on Youtube and by far these were the best to use on black paper (although my other brands are brilliant, I found these were more opague and stood out more). That said, I found them to be just as vibrant and bright on white, grey and natural (canson graduate) paper too. They layer very well, but keep in mind, most black papers are smooth and can limit layering. If you are looking for extreme vibrancy, ensure to use a smooth paper that has a slight tooth. I also found using white artist spirits over the colour, allowing it to dry, does allow you to come in with more layers on a smooth paper. These are extremely soft and I did find I had used quite alot of the pencil after this picture. They blend extremely well with mediums like white artist spirits and baby oil. In terms of sharpening, I used a standard Weibo barrel sharpener and an electric sharpener and obtained a very very sharp point, no breakages. However, keep in mind with a soft core, pressing hard on the paper with the sharp point does at times lead to the tip snapping, but its no big deal. They also work well with Lyra polycolour. I was so impressed with this paper that I will be looking at getting the 100 set and already purchased the pastel and neon set (local store here in SA) This pencil will be great for beginner artists as well as more experienced artists.

I love these pencils. They’re high quality, blend well, go on smooth, and sharpen nicely. The colors are great. They work well on all colors of paper.

I love these pencils. I have the Goldfaber and Polychromos but these are more fun. Cheaper than other offerings mentioned because they are made in Brazil. They lay down wonderfully. The cons: Very hard to manually sharpen. I used a KUM sharpener and wore a blister on my finger from sharpening. The wood is extremely hard splintering off while sharpening and coupled with the odd triangular shape is a big con. As for the color Asst. There way too many blues and greens and less earth tones and yellows. Faber needs to work on improvements in that area IMHO. Still I love these pencils as they have a prismalike feel but slightly firmer. As for the set had four tips broken off from shipping. That was Amazons cheap prime packaging. It was a miracle the rest were ok. Still all in all I recommend these for coloring and with an electric sharpening with an auto stop. Someone with a weak hand strength would have a very hard Tim with them. I have strong hands and still was a bit of a pain in that area. 5 stars for the actual pencil usage - 2 stars for the cons = 3 stars overall

These are excellent quality and I bought several as gifts. It's very useful to have the skin tone range added to my massive colored pencil set, which helps me avoid having to figure out how to mix colors to make the right tones. I recommend these to anyone doing casual coloring or portrait illustrations. They color smoothly and don't need sharpening very often, which is always a plus.

Queste matite colorate offrono un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo. Sono ideali per i bambini e per chi desidera iniziare un hobby senza spendere troppo. Just swatched the colours and they are lovely. Very pleased. Soft to use. Only used of cheap paper so far but they feel pleasurable in use. I liked some of the Crayola skin colours but they were hard and scratchy and thus stayed in their box. Wondering if a full set of Black Edition colours needs to be put on my wish list? I was pleasantly surprised how nice this set is and how the colours go so well together.

Crayons de bonnes qualités , relativement bien couvrant mais pour obtenir une couleur plus intense il y a lieu d'appuyer dessus ou de passer plusieurs fois au même endroit.

The pencils are fantastic! They have a premium feeling and an amazingly texture for the price. They blend with each other really well and Im really surprised with the pigmentation of every color. You can create really nice color gradients. However, after a few layers, the surface becomes very shiny and no longer accepts any more color, so thats something to have on mind. Of course, these are not professional color pencils, but they come very close to the performance of many more expensive brands. They are an excellent option for any artist, and for an unbeatable price. The only negative thing I can say is that one of the pencils came slightly damaged on the outside, and the box was a bit battered. But I've tried all the pencils, and none of them have broken leads. So that proves they're really durable!
