As a hairstylist with a very strong focus on men’s hair for over 20 years, I applaud the guys at Highland for what they are doing. A product line with quality and minimal ingredients we can actually read and understand. This clay is what I have always wanted!! Sure you’ll see some reviews talking about how there isn’t enough hold or it’s not even a medium hold when it says it’s strong hold on the package, but you have to understand, when a product is this clean, strong hold isn’t going to feel like the strong hold in the garbage products most of us have used. This is a strong hold, in terms of keeping your best natural look all day. Something you can work into place, then continuously run your hands through all day and it still looks great. The men’s clay from Davines does a wonderful job at this too, but there’s something about the finish of this product that literally brings out such a healthy natural look. Not shiny either and definitely does not give you a wet look out of the shower. If you see that kind of review, the guy most likely has greasy hair, is using cheap conditioner, or perhaps applied too much. Don’t over use this product in your application, you get the best out it. Amazing work Highland, keep it up!

Initially I was very skeptical about buying this product and kept talking myself out of it, did that a few times. I was under the impression that this was just an incredibly well orchestrated marketing campaign(it kept popping up all over social media) and people just out there overhyping it all. Yesterday I finally decided to give it a try and I have to say, BOY WAS I WRONG, this is probably the best hair product I’ve used in 15 years. Gives a natural matte look to your hair, it’s not greasy, gives plenty of volume and holds your styling in place in a very natural manner. The product also smells pretty good, HIGHLY recommend if you’re having doubts.

This product mainly shines because everything available at a brick and mortar shop is terrible - at least for men. This is great stuff, great hold without being greasy or turning your hair into spikes. No pungent odors. It's noted that it includes pine and sandalwood oil. There's definitely some pine, not getting any sandalwood. Regardless, it isn't a strong scent and that's how it should be. The tin is almost exactly the size of a snuff can. Expensive. But you don't really use much of it at one time.

This clay pomade is easiest to work with when the temperature is around 74F and higher. If the room temperature is around 66F, it takes longer to soften. I have thick, straight hair that sticks out if you cut it wrong. This pomade handles it pretty well. Once it's worked in, it holds the styling together. This stuff does not flatten the hair like regular pomade. Instead, it adds "body" or volume to your hair. There is no gloss. It settles in with no shine in your hair. And like most pomades, this Highland stuff also does a good job moistening dry hands. Another thing about this pomade is that it's hard to wash out, so if you keep it there, you can towel off and style your hair back in place without adding more fresh pomade. With delivery via Prime, it took 7 days, which isn't very prime. I could go to the drugstore and grab another brand of clay pomade in less than a day. This stuff is pricey, which I cannot figure out why. All-natural ingredients means they don't need to formulate compounds to make pomade, so it should cost less, but it's not. While it's a good product, I can't always afford the high price.

This is an okay product. It works well for the first hour or two but then makes my hair very greasy - it feels like I haven't washed it in weeks. It's fairly sticky, which is great, but again it only lasts 2-3 hours for me before making my hair greasy. It smells great - I'll give them that. I'm glad it works for others but it's just not right for me.

It’s very thick—almost like actual clay. At first, I wasn’t sure how it would work with my shorter hair. Pro tip: lightly wet your hands before working it in. Once you add a little moisture and warm it up between your fingers, it spreads much more easily and evenly. Applying it to damp hair makes styling smooth and straightforward. When first applied, the hold feels strong and structured. As the day goes on, it relaxes slightly but still keeps your hair in place without looking stiff or overly styled. I appreciate that it maintains shape while allowing a more natural finish as the hours pass. It is more expensive than some other options out there, but in my opinion, the performance justifies the price. For reference, my hair is short—slightly longer than a typical military regulation cut—so this review reflects how it performs on shorter styles. Overall, I’m happy with the switch and would recommend Highland Glacial Hair Clay Pomade to anyone looking for a strong, workable hold with a natural feel.

Was looking for a new pomade after my barber used a clay product on my hair and I liked it. This is very similar. Holds well – strong enough for my thinner, lighter hair. I slick it back but this doesn't have much of a shine, so I don't look like Gordon Gekko. It washes out great and easy to get off my hands with soap and water.

Can’t say enough good things about Highland’s Glacial Clay Pomade! Don’t let your initial reaction to its appearance fool you. This stuff is great! In the tin, it’s fairly thick, but I put less than a dime size amount on my fingertips, place it in my palm, and then rub my palms together and it quickly turns into a very delicate gel that I work into my hair. Unlike other products that leave your hair crispy or with a sheen, this dries invisibly and allows you to continue to adjust and manage your hair throughout the day without looking like you have anything in at all. It’s so easy to use and keeps my hair looking great all day. Smells great too! I feel good knowing that I’m putting something on my body that’s 100% natural even down to the aluminum tin, which is fully recyclable. I’ve been using this along with Highland’s shampoo “The Wash“ for a few months now and I swear my hair has never been softer. I’m a big fan of this company and their products!
