How and Why the Panda Planner made me happier!
I’ve been using my Panda Planner for four weeks now and simply couldn’t wait to review it. It’s got such great reviews already, but maybe this review will help you see HOW and WHY it really works! (TL;DR recap at the end of this review) I guess I’d admit that I was a little skeptical that it could do any particular wonders. I’ve tried a lot of different productivity tips and read lots of guides, blogs, and books...nothing has helped much. At least not in a holistic, all-encompassing way. Until the Panda Planner! Panda Planner claims it will help me “reclaim my happiness,” I simply wasn’t expecting the ways in which it actually would. Here’s how: [First: My PRE-Panda Planner “symptoms”: anxiety, overwhelm, lack of mindfulness, difficulty sticking to habits, mood swings, overall sense of “meh,” and I feel like my days just pass me by. My method of organization: Way too many to-do lists and Post-It Notes all over the place.] 1. Improved PLANNING: • METHOD: Half the battle of making the Panda Planner work for you is to set an intention and commit to it. You gotta go ALL IN and form the overall habit of connecting with your Planner not just daily, but in the morning and evening, at the beginning and end of your week, plus of course monthly overviews. Once you commit, everything falls neatly into place. Tip: Create a nice cozy ritual around the mini and larger planning sessions. I chillax with my coffee and Panda in the AM, for example, and it’s such a nice way to mindfully begin my day (rather than checking email/social media!) • RESULT: I’m simply WAY more organized than when I had my random to-do lists and Post-Its everywhere. I feel more in control now that my tasks are all in one place. I also feel so much more prepared and so much less overwhelmed as I go through these “checkpoints” of AM, PM, Weekly prep - consistently keeping tabs on both my workload and lifeload. 2. Improved PRODUCTIVITY: • METHOD: There are spots to plan your week and days, of course, but there is also a place to schedule the hours of your day, which I use to--at the very least--loosely schedule out all my projects and tasks and remind myself of meetings, meetups, and events. There’s also a bonus spot in the Month Overview to set bigger goals. I use it for things I’ve had a LOT of trouble tackling...you know, those tasks or projects that have been on the To-Do List forevvvver and just don’t get done? • RESULT: I simply get SO much more done now. The Panda Planner makes me WANT to write down tasks, especially knowing how great it feels to cross them off! I’ve noticed that the hourly schedule keeps me more on track. And the reward of crossing off tasks from both daily and weekly is, of course, very satisfying! Also, because I set a couple Monthly “Big Goal” intentions, those are FINALLY getting done! I had one on my list since Thanksgiving that I finally crossed off in July because of Panda. 3. Improved HABIT-FORMING: • METHOD: The key to habit-forming is to not take on too much at once and, of course, complete the habit daily. On the Month Calendar Page, you set your one big habit intention and then there are little squares in the upper corner to check off/color in when you’ve completed your habit for the day. There are also spots on the Weekly and Daily pages to record your habit(s) as well. • RESULT: I completed my assigned habit every single day with NO misses and I seriously attribute it to coloring in those little squares. Gamification is real folks! And because I’m more conscious of habit-forming, I’ve also gotten a lot better at pushing away little bad habits like checking email/social media and getting lost in some sort of internet research rabbit hole. Because of the Panda Planner, I feel like these habits are always subconsciously on my mind. 4. Improved MINDFULNESS: • METHOD: Every day you record: 1. What you’re grateful for, 2. What you’re excited about, 3. Your affirmation, 4. Your focus, and 5. Your wins after the day is through. • RESULT: Just like keeping tabs on my tasks in the AM/PM has improved my productivity, keeping tabs on positive emotions like gratitude and excitement has improved my overall life outlook. Even on days when I wasn’t feeling particularly grateful or excited, I just sat there and more or less “soul searched” for something and felt a lot better afterward. PLUS--like embers that keep a fire going--throughout the day, I notice that semi-subconsciously I look for things to be grateful and excited about. I also take more time with things, take more “mindful moments” breaks to stop, breathe, and notice things around me. My days feel more full of life because I’m making a more conscious effort to participate in them, rather than letting them pass me by. 5. Improved MOOD: All of the above--combined and working together--has improved my overall mood! I know that one big source of anxiety is simply being overwhelmed by projects and tasks, so now that I’m much more organized and I merely take things day-by-day, that anxiety has decreased significantly. I also do a LOT less social media scrolling and mindless interneting--a huge source of my negative moods. Also, committing to daily exercise, especially in the AM, is like a daily dose of happy dopamine and endorphins that always cheer me up! I also committed to restarting my drawing “passion project” after a year of neglect and seeing the initial results of that is like re-igniting a fire that I thought burned out. Even when I have my bad days, it’s almost as if the negative feelings are happening independently and moving through me like storm clouds and I know they’ll pass soon. I don’t hold on to them. I don’t try to control them. And I don’t give them as much weight. Again, this is all in Month 1. TL;DR Recap: Panda Planner makes it so much easier to access productivity, gratitude, and mindfulness because of the daily, weekly, and monthly structure right there at your fingertips. All you have to do is commit to taking the time to sit down a couple times per day and fill out the blank spots that are waiting for your words. That’s it! Everything I’ve mentioned above is MORE than worth the $25 experiment even if you’re just slightly curious about whether or not this planner will work for you. I honestly can’t recommend it enough! Thank you Panda for helping me become happier!!!

A perfect planner for me
What is great about this planner is that it gives you options on how to organize and keep track of your schedule. It provides a monthly, weekly, and daily schedule system, and comes with two bookmarks to keep your place. I use mine in the weekly and daily sections respectively, and it helps me keep track of where I am. There is little need to flip vigorously to find your place again. I also like that the dates are not already written in, so even if you've not acquired this on January 1st, you still have a full year of use. Then with the pages themselves. With the weekly scheduling, it first allows you to look at the positive of each week that goes by. It encourages you to write down "big wins" of the previous week, and then things to improve upon for the following. Then it encourages you to write down three things you can do to make the week great, as well as things to look forward to. It also provides an area for habits to develop, education, and a passion project. It then has five slots for projects you are prioritizing for the upcoming week, and five goals you wish to accomplish. I think this is great in regards to encouraging a fulfilling lifestyle with growth and reflection. It also encourages a practice of having compassion with yourself. The daily planner section also prompts you with positive affirmations, things you're grateful for, an intention for making the day a good one, what your focus is for the day, and an exercise. Here as well, projects of the day are listed. Of course, there is also a schedule that ranges from 7 am to 9 pm. Right now my schedule does not include appointments prior to, so that works for me, but I could see this being a slight inconvenience for those who have a need for earlier scheduling. There are also eight slots for tasks you may have for the day, and little boxes to check off -- which I think is great because it's a wonderful feeling to be able to cross something off the list. A square is also sectioned off for any notes you may wish to make. Lastly, there is an "end of day review" that allows you to write down the day's "wins" and how you may improve for the future. Again, further encouragement for the future and positive thinking and growth. It makes me pretty glad and I would recommend this for anyone.

Great for transitions!
There are several things that I love about this planner. First, I like the size and the binding. The pages are sewn in which I like. It has a ribbon for each section (monthly, weekly, daily) and the pages are LOVELY. Nice & thick. I did a pen test with a black v5, a crayola super tip, and a purple sharpie PEN and they all did really well, barely any shadowing with any and only slight Braille on the v5. I have a heavy hand, FYI. Lots of people complain about the 6 month monthly vs. the 90-days of weekly/daily. It makes perfect sense, though. I always have things that pop up several months out. Since it’s only a 90 day planner, having those extra months gives you a place to future plan without having the next one on deck. I have used this layout before, in his free printable sample pages and love the review for the week and the day. This would be especially great for transitions and super busy periods. Why? Well because it’s only 90 days so it would help you keep track of all the necessary things when you aren’t sure how things are going to flow. And it will keep you grounded and calm when things are super busy or chaotic. It leads you through gratitude exercises, things you are looking forward to things, some exercise (endorphins), improving at things, and more. If your feel like life is spinning out of control, this would be great place to start some self-care and positivity, even on bad days. And even better are the videos where he walks you through how best to use each feature. You can always interpret it differently if that works for you, but I found that he had ideas that hadn’t occurred to me. My only downside is the super dark gray bars around all the headers/titles. I personally, would enjoy a much more simple/minimalist layout. I’m the type of person would rather add my own emphasis with markers. Also, the fact that it’s only a 90-day planner is...interesting. I can’t say that I hate it, because, well, I’m a planner girl and spending $25 a quarter on planners is not unheard of. Bullet journal folks spend good money on nice notebooks and this is just as high quality, but with layouts done for you. Some TN girls do, too. I can see it being great for transitions where you don’t know what kind of system you will need long-term. It would also be good in chronic health situations to help you see how much you can or cannot do and to help you keep positive during these tough times. Or if it works for you, just keep on keeping on. Overall, though, I really like this planner. It’s super high quality, I love the daily layout and I especially love the weekly reviews. I REALLY need to get back on the weekly review train so I’m excited to have a guided place to do so.

This book makes me answer two questions: "Who do you want to be?" and "What do you want to do?"
This is an awesome planner--probably the best I've ever had. It's not PERFECT for me, but I don't know if something made by someone else could ever fit my unique and specific needs. What's nice is that there's lots of white space so even if I don't use some spaces for their intended purpose I can still use them for something productive. It's definitely helping me stay organized and learn about what my priorities really are. I'll break down the 3 different sections and give my 2 cents. The Monthly Planner This is just handy. It's nice to see the whole month laid out with only big events highlighted. I like the idea of focusing on one goal at a time. This has helped me SIMPLIFY. The Weekly Planner I love the way this is laid out. There is space to focus and prioritize ALL areas of a person's life. The other week I was feeling like a failure (I can be so dramatic sometimes) because I wasn't getting everything on my daily "tasks" lists done. But when I went back to look at my overall weekly goals and priorities I saw I had nailed each one. This was encouraging and helped me re-focus. The Daily Planner It's really helpful for me to have an entire 2 page spread for each day. My life is crazy and full and I need much more than the usual 2 inch rectangle you get in typical planners. I don't always use the "Today's Priorities" section, which is an entire half of one page. Often times my top priority is to get everything on my to-do list done and my "Tasks" are already written on another page. Sometimes I try to write something down just because I think I should but I don't know if that's really helping me. It seems like a waste of space some days. NOTE: I've only been using this planner for 2.5 weeks so this may change as I learn how to better use the space. I appreciate the "I'm Grateful For" section and the prompts that help me sit down and select a focus and affirmation for each day. All of it combined helps me appreciate the potential and beauty in each day. Overall The quality is great. The pages are thick so ink doesn't bleed through, even when I use markers. The size is just right, in my opinion. There is lots of space and the layout just makes sense. This book makes me answer two questions: "Who do you want to be?" and "What do you want to do?" And there is space and outlines to delve into each of those important areas.

Streamlined, Functional and Superior & I'm a return customer!
*****BOTH OF MY REVIEWS**** *****FIRST REVIEW****I'm so excited to get started on this planner. It came in the mail today and I'm so happy!!! I've been using a off the shelf from Walmart planner and it just isn't functional for my needs - I believe I've got something in my hands now with the Panda Planner that can be much more effective and more fitting to my personal needs. I was hoping it would contain enough pages for a year, but I guess it would become to big and bulky to be functional and take with me. I am pleased with it's streamlined and simple appearance and the paper quality is great! my pens don't bleed through like they do in other planners I've tried. I'm looking forward to having my days better organized and knocking out some tasks I've been holding back on as well as reaching some goals. Thanks Panda Planner! ****SECOND REVIEW**** I just received my second planner! The first one was great and I've used it daily for the last 3 months. I found it to be superior to every planner I've used so far. I'm keeping up with my goals and tasks and seeing more progress in them than I have for years! I'm a student as well as active with my church and raising a grandchild and this planner is helping me juggle it all. The paper quality is great - no bleeding through, smooth- the ink from my pens just flows great. The binding did get a little beat up but it's from constant use, it didn't come apart in any way and has held up to more than it's share of abuse too. I love the priority boxes - they really help me stay on top of the details fo what I need to do each day. There are a couple of things I'd like to see added to the planner - In the exercise box I think there's room to put some boxes to check for keeping track of how much water you drink - currently I'm drawing them in myself. I'd also like to see and extra box (maybe divide part of the affirmation box just to write one thing I appreciate about my spouse each day (yeah... from a TED talk). I'm currently making room of the extra space in those areas to write them in myself but it would save me a little time if they were already on the printed page. I do wish that there were more than 90 days worth of pages though, and it would be great if there were 12 monthly calendar pages instead of 6, even if the rest of the planner stays it's current size. These things have not stopped me from ordering another and unless someone comes up with something much better (I doubt it) I'll keep buying these!

Good idea, poor implementation; given the journal's limited format, this may not be able to be fixed.
I found these while searching for the Franklin Covey refills. I was attracted to this because it was a journal, which meant I didn't need a special binder to use it, and that it had areas specifically designed to focus on positive attitudes. I still like those qualities in this journal. The journal is well-built and seems like it will handle rough usage. If I had anything negative to say about it would be that I would like it in a more sturdy format, to include actual leather option and acid-free paper. Other than that, physically, this is a nice planner/journal. The interior is broken into 3 sections: Monthly, Weekly, Daily. I can intuit what those sections are meant for, but not how the designer planned for them to be used. When I went to the website it forced me to register to view the videos, which were YouTube-based videos plugged into their website. Note: Skip the registration and find the videos on YouTube. What's even better is, you'll find useful videos about the Panda Planner. I did not find the official videos useful, at all. The person who designed the planner just uses a mouse to go over the page designs while talking. I would rather see actual use, for instance: I get my planner, open it and it's Day One of Week One on the month in which I'll start, such as December 1st, 2017. Where do I go first? How do I integrate the Weekly with the Monthly and Daily? Is the monthly just a recap, or is it used to plan for the Week, which is in turn used for the Day? What I dislike about this planner, and for me it's a big issue, is that it cannot handle anything for which I did not plan. For example, I just received a call from the hospital which was not planned. Where do I put that? I have to note that I talked to a specific person about a specific issue at a specific time, but I have absolutely no room to put that conversation and the notes anywhere. I had already put in the "Schedule" section on the day that I had spoken with somebody and on the second line I had that I emailed somebody, but after that, I'm screwed. The "Schedule" section seems to think that a busy person is only going to have one, or at max two, agenda items happen per hour from the hours of 6am - 9pm. So, I turn to the "Notes" section. This is incredibly small. I have taken two notes, with as few words as possible, and it's full. Sadly, I'm now at 2pm and I hope that I don't have to take any more notes for the day. That's a deal breaker for me. While this journal/planner seems like a good idea, I don't think it's very well implemented. Given the space limitations, I don't know that anything can be done about that, which means I'll have to go to loose-leaf paper again. I'll keep checking back on the design and maybe I'll find it useful later. For now, I am forced to return to the Franklin Covey style of time management.

When I use this planner, I’m simply a better version of myself
When I consistently use this planner, I honestly feel like a better version of myself. I’m more productive, more focused, and I start the day with a noticeably better attitude. What makes this planner different is how it encourages intentional planning, not just task dumping. It helps me prioritize what matters, reflect on progress, and approach the day with clarity instead of stress. On days I skip it, I can feel the difference in both my productivity and mindset. I appreciate that it balances structure with flexibility. It keeps me accountable without feeling overwhelming or rigid, which makes it easier to stick with long‑term. Over time, it’s become more than just a planner—it’s a daily reset that helps me show up better. If you’re someone who wants to be more productive and more positive throughout the day, this planner is absolutely worth trying. When I use it consistently, it truly shows.

Great planner for being more intentional with your time and thoughts!
I've used this planner for the week and found myself to be much more productive and self-aware. I think I'm going to be using it during my four-day workweek and Friday, which is when I get most of my tasks finished. I've found the goals sections and end of day/week reviews to be most helpful. Goals: This planner really put me into a proactive mode instead of just going with the status quo. After actively thinking about what my monthly and weekly goals are and writing them down, I've found I'm more motivated to accomplish the goals than if they were not written down. The planner provides accountability by encouraging one to create a plan for their week or month. End of Day/Week Review: This planner encourages taking time to actively think about that day or week and what was great and how it can be better in the future. After doing this I recognized that each day had something great about it and I've found myself to be much more appreciative for each day. Previously I've focused on what I did not accomplish that day and generally felt dissatisfied. I've also realized that my expectations for each day are unrealistic, so I'm taking a step back at the beginning of the day to think "what can I realistically get done today?" Other sections that I also think are great include Morning Review and Priorities on the Daily pages: Morning Review: This section really encourages positive thought by digging a little deeper about what you are grateful for. The creator wants the user to really feel the gratitude and be more specific than just saying "family." Listing what will make the day great really puts a positive outlook on the day also. There is always something to look forward to if one just stops to actively think about it. Priorities: The priorities section has helped me stay on task at work. There are always lots of different tasks that I could get done, but I try to just list 3 items in the priorities section. During the day I will catch myself getting side-tracked on some other project and I'll stop to think "Wait, was this on my priorities list? No? Then I should do it later" Summary: I think this a great planner. It has caused me to be more intentional with creating goals, setting priorities, and encouraging positive thought. I'm telling everyone I know about it I'll update my review later as I develop more from using the Panda Planner.

The only planner/diary I’ve stuck with
I had admired the Passion Planner on Instagram for a while, but it’s an expensive import. This is similar. FYI - I’m an arty, unplanning, right-brain, spontaneous type. I’ve tried countless diaries and journals with many fails. Over time I have worked out what suits my character, personal style, and brain-type. I don’t plan, I journal. Firstly, un-undated. Anything with a date gives me the nudge to write even on days I’m apathetic about it…….. for a while. My previous dated diary lasted 3 months, then Summer came and the busy season took me away from my journals…. The empty days are unsatisfying to see and I couldn’t return to it. Undated gives me the freedom to use it as and when I’m inspired to. If you need the nudge, don’t buy this one. 2. A certain amount of parameters gets me started. The completely empty diaries/journals left me uninspired or required too much thinking to get started (bullet journals). This one has all the boxes ready to fill in. I fill in what I want and blank out what I don’t need (Schedule & Tasks). I especially enjoy the sections for Gratitude, Today’s Wins. 3. As a mixed media artist, I like the freedom to use various mediums although I don’t water-colour in this one. The thick paper takes most markers (not copic) and most water-based ink pads. Overall, it’s made well. Cons: 1. Really dislike the blue cover and there’s no other option, on Amazon at least. I will cover it, but an ugly (to me) cover could have put me off using it. 2. The ribbons are ugly. 3. A pen holder would have been nice. Diaries/planners/journals are utterly personal to ones needs & way of functioning. This one suits me. Someone in the reviews was annoyed that the months and days were separated and so we shouldn’t buy it. Firstly, that’s a personal preference. Secondly, it makes perfect sense in an un-dated planner! You need that flexibility of how many days you actually end up using. There are 3 attached ribbons which are supposed to help. I’ll be buying a second one - it came with a handy 10% discount too.
