Excellent quality
Excellent quality very pleased with this, and easy to clean and oil. Beautiful piece in the kitchen. After spending days reading up on all the types of wood etc, I'm pleased with my decision

Good board, let’s see
A big decision to get this and a leap of faith. Tiny kitchen and chunky board, it takes up a fair chunk of my workspace but is a welcome addition and so far much used. I went for 4 inches thick in the hope it might not split along some of the end grain joins which seems part of the course with end grain boards compared to other build types. The negative reviews about this problem, Boos included, put me off some of the thinner boards. I’m caring for it well with oil, conditioner and dedicated cleaner so let’s see. It seems beautifully made, I’ll see how it goes and will review again if ‘split’ problems emerge. I just wish Boos cream was easier to get on the UK without a ransom. Boos gave a sample with the board but enough of a tiny sachet only to coat one side which is a little mean for the cost! Try buying the cream for a reasonable price here seems a challenge.

Great cutting board
Hefty and stable! After more than 8 months of use, still looks beautiful. Just oil and put cream once a month to prevent cracks and shrinking!

I really wanted this one to be good….
This is the second Boos Board I’ve purchased through Amazon that I will also be returning unfortunately. From reading other comments the board was not dry and it did match the colour shown and the square cut size shown, it has I believe too many red flags and defects to warrant the price and investment. It was very heavy and don’t know would you be moving it too much to be honest (e.g. chopping veg moving to the pot etc), it would be move of a you live here now chopping block that gets turned and flipped from time to time. Firstly similar to what others have reported is, there is glue coming from one of the squares on the very edge of the board. It was visible through the plastic wrap. As others have said this caused issue after use with the board cracking or breaking apart. And I really for that price don’t want to take the risk or think I’ll be the one it doesn’t happen too. Although the plastic wrapping was in perfect condition around the board, once removed there are multiple scratch marks on the board, which is strange because a few are so deep they would have had to have broken the plastic… I am not sure if this occurred during manufacturing or are they being re-wrapped or given to Amazon as seconds? But literally the plastic wrapping with the Boos information around the board had no signs of damage or scratches at all. I think this will be the last Boos board I purchase online and will wait until I am somewhere I can visit a stockist, as I don’t have any stockist in the country I live, Amazon is the only option, but I think for the investment of €300-€400 on a chopping board you really need to see it and inspect it in person as they are meant to be a long term investment and something which will take up a good portion or your kitchen (unless you want to keep purchasing and returning until you get a perfect one!) *note: I understand wooden chopping boards are going to get scratched and marked etc but for +€300 I kind of want to be the one doing it myself not have it arrived to me scratched / dropped / water marked already. *The glue issue would be more concerning based on others experience and photos they have shown.

UNFORTUNATE Flaws and customer support
Ohh my, this is difficult, and I think that it's probably difficult for them as-well. When you make such a wonderful product, but it's impossible to give a lifetime warrantee for natural products, especially wood. I mean, these are so good and expensive that you can gift them to your children, and their grandchildren. The only problem that I have found is that they failed to send me a perfect board, so now I wonder if I got a second, or is this their acceptable board. I just bought as a gift, and it's entirely off center, many of the boards are turned the wrong direction for long term stability especially with end grain wood.. So what happens when it's not constructed more carefully is that you get cracking a year later, I contacted them, on my first purchase, a $600.00 board when it cracked, and they were zero help. Why not just put it up front that your boards might crack due to the nature of wood, and if it happens, and if it does, here's how to fix it. or even better yet, include a crack repair KIT WITH THE EPOXY, just incase it happens after the warrantee period. I see so many complaints about this and their boards, it seems that a more proactive approach would be good for their business, yes I understand that some people might not take care of their boards and that they don't want to deal with that hassle, but mine cracked after extremely careful use, I found a fix, it wasn't that difficult and in the 4 years Later my board is still perfect, no thanks to Boose Brothers!!!!

Great cutting board!
It is a statement. So thick and heavy. Very substantial. We are very happy with it and it will last forever.
