My husband and I like to spend a pleasant evening outside, grilling and watching the nighttime world go by. Mosquitoes really put a damper on the enjoyment, especially since I seem to be a prime menu option. These easy to use citronella incense sticks improve the situation dramatically. The scent is quite pleasant, and between the smoke and the citronella scent, mosquitoes hit the road. The only issue (and others have mentioned this) is that the sticks are a little fragile and break easily. Kind of annoying when you’re left with a handful of tiny pieces, but here’s an idea: put the little pieces in an ashtray and light ‘em up! The effect is the same and makes the little blood suckers stay back.

Pros: strong scent. Cons: strong scent. The scent is strong so mosquitos and bugs really don't like it. Unfortunately, you may not love it either.

I like that one stick lasts about 53 minutes and the aroma was strong, but not over powering. I used this on my front porch that is completely open to the outside. Every time I went out in the morning to water my plants the mosquitoes considered me their breakfast. This kept those little buggers away!

The box says repels mosquitoes and other flying insects. I guess it works ok on mosquitoes because I don’t see any mosquitoes when I burn it, but it is useless against houseflies and gnats. That said, it burns evenly, the sticks are bigger than an indoor incense stick, and the smell is not super chemically or sickly sweet.

I put two of these burning outside when I am lounging in my backyard. I have plenty of vegetation that accumulates water after heavy rains, so extra mosquito protection is needed where I am. Two is usually enough spaced apart around my chair. I stick them in the ground when lit. They do burn for about 50 minutes as stated. These put off a smoke and odor that I find pleasant, but some people may not like it. Mosquitoes do stay away from me while they are burning, but as soon as they are out, the mosquitoes return. I will buy these again since they are effective. I recommend them to those with mosquito problems like me.
