Osprey Pack Pocket Padded

Handy for bus pass or frequently used items, saves you having to open up your main backpack, fairly secure

Good size for phone & glasses & versatile. Stayed safely attached to hip strap & would also easily attach to shoulder strap if needed

Not padded. It is just a shell case with a bit of netting (similar to bottle pocket on backpack) and a key clip/hook. The netting is too tight. It makes sliding a phone in quite difficult. There is a pull tab on the netting that helps but that still means you need two hands to do it. If the netting was just a bit looser or angled a bit more it would have been much better. I have tried a Galaxy Fold 7 and a S25 Ultra, both fit- just. I was concerned that the metal of the zip would damage the edge of the phones when opening or closing the zip but there is some material that prevents that from happening. Really could do with being just 1 or 2cm longer. You could keep your phone out of the netting but as the zip opens all the way to bottom of the case there is a higher chance of dropping it. You do get approx an extra cm of height outside of the netting. The key hook seems a bit pointless and is next to the zip so just gets in the way of closing the zip, I will probably just cut this off if I keep the case. The hook that attaches to the backpack strap loop would be better if it was adjustable in length so that the pouch could sit lower on your shoulder strap. At the moment the pouch feels a bit too close to my face. The velcro does feel a bit weak and I don't think I'd trust it for climbing etc but think it is fine for hiking/running/cycling etc. There is a bit of string with a easy to grab plastic/rubber finger grip on the zip which is ok but kind of just sticks up in air when pouch is zipped up and don't know how durable it will be. The pouch comes attached to a piece of cardboard with no other packaging to protect it. Mine had some marks and dirt but was easy enough to clean. Undecided on whether I will keep it atm. Might try the non-padded version to see if it is any better.

It was as described but bigger than I expected. It did what it was meant to do but I did not use it in the end on my bag.

It is a nice idea to keep thing handy BUT it fell off the shoulder-strap the second time I used it. There is a pouch-hook which loosely hangs on the rucksack's shoulder strap and is held in place by two small pouch-straps with 'velcro' but there is not enough 'velcro' to keep it secure. The loose-fitting pouch-hook somehow came off the shoulder-strap allowing the pouch to slide down the shoulder-strap. I found it dangling by one tiny bit of 'velcro' on just one pouch-strap. That was all that stopped me losing my phone. That is not a risk I want to take again. I guess the moral of the story is check it, check it, check it and keep your valuables somewhere safer. The message to Osprey is - please provide a more secure system. I like your products but this one has shaken my faith in both types of Osprey pouches that I use.

We received the item and it was dirty please see attached picture. My husband needed it to go away with, so could not wait for another one to be sent.

Too bulky and annoying and only Velcro attachment so insecure. Sent it back
