SINGER Instant Hem Tape, 3/4-Inch by 15-Foot

I bought a jumpsuit and there was a shipping mishap, so it was delivered two days before the party I was going to; too late to bring to a tailor. I used this to temporarily hem the bottom. Following another reviewer's advice I put on the night before and did not wear right away. I had no problems with the hem moving or coming down, and I did a lot of walking and dancing. The material I used it on was a polyester/elastane blend. While I will be bringing this to a tailor to permanently shorten, I would not hesitate to use this again if necessary or to recommend to anyone. One con was that it was a little hard to separate the tape from the backing, but I found that if I did it slowly, and not remove all of the backing at once, I had more control over it and overall it was even. So turning it inside out, on each pant leg I did one long strip on each side (back and front), folded it over, and pressed it smooth. It was easy to fix any mistakes or areas that were not smooth. Great product!

I used to use the iron-on hem tape until I broke my iron (by accidently ironing a pile of hem tape into the iron... whoops). Rather than buy a new iron for the 2x/year I actually use it, I got this to hem pants and it works great. It's only supposed to be temporary, but this held up in the wash on a pair of dress pants. TO USE: 1. Put whatever item of clothing inside out. 2. Use more than one piece of tape to go around a full 360 degrees like on a pant leg, sleeve, or shirt tail. If you try to use one piece of tape, it will bunch up and lose stickiness because it's TAPE. 3. Let it sit for a few hours, like overnight. Then it's ready to wear. If you try to wear it right away, then yes it will probably come unstuck. It also works as regular double-sided tape in a pinch, I discovered.

This fabric tape is easy to use once. you can get the proctective film removed. Because the protective film is so thin it's time consimeinf to remove. The adhesive works great.

It is as good as scotch tape

It's a Singer product. I don't question their quality. I just expect it to be of high quality and have never been let down.

I ruined a $2,000 gown with this stuff. Specifically purchased this tape because it was “removable”; I borrowed the dress from a friend who is a few inches taller than me and needed a temporary adjustment to the length. This seemed to fit the bill perfectly —and my hope was that it would keep the dress in better condition by not poking holes with safety pins. In terms of application and stability, it worked great — but the removal has been the bane of my existence, and my latest attempt to get it off (after trying four different methods, I resorted to goo gone) ruined the fabric of the lining. This is obviously a nightmare scenario as I now have to explain to the friend from whom I’ve borrowed, and come up with a replacement solution. So yes, it is a tape that provides a hem, and in that way it lives up to its promise. But buyer beware: be prepared to give your item a permanent hem because the gunk from this tape is *never* coming off of whatever fabric it touches.

I wasn't able to properly put this on according to the instructions, and it STILL stayed on my dress. We were on our way to a wedding and I needed a strip to overlap a bit of fabric on the front of my dress because too much cleavage was showing. I had intended to use the tape before getting dressed, but we were running late and I had to use it in the car on the way down to the ceremony. I didn't have scissors, but I was able to tear off the length I needed from the roll. I kept the backing on and pressed the sticky side firmly to my dress. After a couple of minutes, I removed the backing, then pressed the top of my dress into place. The tape hung on all night, even with my bust pulling at the tape. After we left, I pulled the tape off without any residue or issues, so I will definitely be using this again as I need it.

This came in handy for some “bling” edging on a pair of pants of mine, that I bought on Amazon. It needed to stick on better (blend fabric). It helped it to stay securely on a blue pair and dressed them up. I get compliments on this idea. It might have to be removed for putting them in the washer-not sure yet. Most think that’s the way the pants came!

This product is great. I did not have time to have my suit altered before an event. This did the trick. I used the tape the night before I wore the suit pants. The product is very sticky, so you have to take your time using this. You can unpeel it quickly if you mess up on it and repressed the right length. The only challenge for this was peeling off the second side of the tape. I haven't washed the pants yet so I am not sure how it will come off. Conclusion: If you are in a situation and don't have time to get something tailored. This product is your best friend

Works very well. Used to turn up some heavy curtains so the bottom no longer drags on the floor.

Bought it to hem white trousers. I didn't realise that it came off when washed. Given that it was for white it had a very short shelf life as I had to wash them after wearing them once or twice. I think any double sided tape would have worked just as well as it is a very temporary fix.

We went on a last minute vacation and my husband had a pair of pants that needed hemmed. We didn’t have time and ordered this instead. It worked great of the job and lasted all night through a wedding. It came off the pants great and didn’t leave a residue. Great item if you are in a pinch.
