Awesome toy

This is such a fun and imaginative set from Melissa & Doug. Aimed at younger children, this is perfect for imaginative play and has been a very welcome addition to the playroom. So much thought and details has gone into this set. There's a recipe book, teaching children how to make ice creams. The ice creams can be split to combine flavours. So many little touches add to the playability such as the ice cream machine which drops ice cream into a pot or on a cone. The cones are made of a nice felt and fold into a cone shape using velcro. It's so innovative and really brings different textures, colours and ways of playing to this set. I even loved the little terminal where children can scan a card and write notes. The whole set is so colourful and has so many different combinations. Being able to make ice cream sandwiches, pots, milkshakes and cones as well as combining flavours allows children to really use their imagination. My children especially loved the novelty of the ice cream machine and the ice cream scoop which works really well. However, my only qualm with this set is the price. At £103.42 (at time of review), it does feel very expensive because of it's size. The only saving grace is that it is very well made and includes everything you would need in the set. The main unit feels absolutely solid and I'm a sucker for wooden toys. This is an absolutely fantastic set despite having a very niche theme. It's very well executed and has already brought my kids hours of fun. You won't be disappointed!

This set is brilliant, you get so much in it from the ice cream counter, to the name board and all the different ice creams and toppings. There is so much for children to play with and come up with on this set. It’s a little heavy so I would put it somewhere you plan for it to stay, you could carry it round and no doubt a toddler will try but for me it’s designed to stay put. One of the big selling points for me for this product is it’s built to last and hand down again and again, I much prefer getting toys that are not disposable plastic and are something that will be played with over and over. Brilliant toy and would recommend. The only issue I had with it was the box looked like it has been sitting in the sun, but a little one would not care in the slightest about this so not an issue really. Age range for this I would say 3-7.

They say you get what you pay for and that is the case for this Melissa and Doug wooden Cool Scoops Ice Cream set. We've had various toys from Melissa and Doug in the past so I know their quality is always good. This set is made of quality thick wood with lovely ice cream themed designs. It comes with the ice cream counter with till attached, various cones and icre cream tops sandwiches, a scooper that lifts scoops, cup, milkshake cup, straw, activity card, loyalty card and credit card. Everything you would expect to see in a real ice cream parlour. This is a great role play toy that is aimed at the 3+ age range. It is currently priced in the £100 range which is fair for the quality and size of this set. Would definitely recommend.

My son is absolutely in love with this set up. He’s so obsessed with ice cream and role play at the moment, so this has been a winning combination of his two obsessions. It has tonnes of accessories - lots of different colours of ‘ice cream’ and types of cones. The ice cream tops have little pegs that slot into one another for stacking, or into cones - these are really easy for my sons little hands to use - although they don’ hold so sturdy when using the ice cream tub. As a parent I like that the little accessories all have slots to keep them in place - although some of the bigger accessories like the cups, cards etc just sort of poke in anywhere. It’s really sturdy in design, and beautifully decorated. Theres also a great level of interactivity, especially the scoop dispenser.

The best purchase we’ve made. It was a hit for Christmas! 7 and 2 year old girls have loved it and played with it daily for almost 2 months. They play together and it’s a fun toy for parents to play with too because there’s structure and an objective while still imagining. The quality seems good! My only complaint is the etch board for the checkout doesn’t erase well and the paint slightly chips on the ice cream from the scooper but overall it’s durable with a toddler throwing. Money well spent

As usual with Melissa and Doug, a great product and well worth the money. My kids always get so much playtime with these role playing toys of theirs, we have almost all of them my kids love them so much, and this is one of their favorites.
