My family of 6 absolutely LOVED this shade. It's super easy to set up and take down. The material seems pretty durable, although we only used it for 2 days, so it's still too early to tell. It held up well in moderate wind and most importantly, kept us nice and shady on the beach. Everyone was able to sit in/under it at the same time! We took our small dog with us for the first time and this was a life-saver for him. Enough room to move around and a safe place to retreat and relax when he got too hot. We even had several people stop and ask about it. I was a bit hesitant at first, but I'm super happy we bought this and will definitely use it a lot. 10/10...would absolutely recommend.

This is one of those items where everyone who saw it wanted to get one. It comes in a small bag that is incredibly light and easy to carry. No more hauling a heavy framed canopy and taking up all that space in your vehicle to and from the beach. It holds up surprisingly well to the wind and can be setup in multiple positions to block the sun from pretty much any angle. Setup and tear down was a breeze. Everything fits right back in the bag without having to cram it in. Definitely worth the purchase if you want shade at a beach and something that is super easy to carry and store away when not in use.

Saw similar product 5 years ago and should have bought it then. Makes beach more bearable. Easy to set up, but may be difficult for one person (requires tension between poles). Packs into a tiny, light bag. The ones that have a metal frame have to be much larger and weight alot.

We bought this product right before a family trip to the beach. The canopy is pretty lightweight and the carrying bag it comes with makes it easy to get down to the beach. The first day we were there, the set up process was really smooth and we had no issues with the canopy coming down at any point. It provided much appreciated shade in the 90+ degree weather. The next day we were there, it was quite a bit windier and we were constantly having to adjust the poles because no orientation that we tried would get the canopy to be completely stable - it just kept tipping over with each strong wind gust. We did eventually get it to a pretty okay spot, but it took many hours of slight adjustments here and there. I will also mention that at 5’11” I was too tall to stand under the canopy without it just resting on my head. I would try to stand under it while reapplying sunscreen and it was just constantly hitting me every time. Overall, I still give this product a 4/5 stars since it is cheap, lightweight, and not terribly difficult to set up. These pros outweigh the cons of the short height and difficulties in the wind.

We saw these being used by others at a couple vacations & finally decided to purchase. The only regret is not buying earlier! So much easier than umbrellas with screw-in anchor which takes alot of strength. This - one person can easily put it up in minutes with zero strain. Spread it out, use scoops to fill the bags with sand, pull out the poles with segments that auto-pop tightly into place, stand them up in the 4 corners - done. Did not use the pole ties, didn't miss them. It withstood wind that would have demolished an umbrella, though it did not fully shield from rain - stretchy woven thin fabric. Great shade though, you can almost stand up under - thinking about getting an extra pole for the middle to allow that. Love it & glad we finally purchased!

This is the best item I have EVER purchased from Amazon for the beach. We used this tent in Perdido Key, FL. It was so simple to put up, everything fits nicely in the bag before and after use. We had one very windy day but it held up no problem. There were 4 of us girls and we had it up within 5 minutes. The key is to fill the corners full of sand first then place the poles in and secure with band. We did use the small shovels, but we mostly used our hands b/c the sand there is white and powdery it was just quicker. We did give the bottom “feet” a twist and dug a hole to sit them in on the very windy day. Tent never budged, it was great!!!

This sun shelter is light and easy to set up. The one suggestion I can make is to offer a 5th pole when the conditions are windy. This shelter will flap in the wind and in a strong wind, flap a lot but even in a strong wind the shelter held up with some slight modifications. For light or strong wind you take the front edge of the fabric and fold it back over the top of the poles. For strong winds you won't really need the 2 back poles because the wind will hold the fabric up. Use one or both of the back poles on the front edge of the fabric. These 2 steps will mostly eliminate the flapping. We have the 10 x 10 shelter which is a bit crowded for 6 people. If I had it to do again, I would spend the extra 20 bucks and get the large unit if you have more than 4 people. The packed-up size is light and pretty small- very easy to carry. We used the unit for 3 full days in a strong wind and it held up fine for those 3 days. We used sunscreen even under the shelter because it still felt like the we were getting UV heat while sitting under it. No burns because we used sunscreen, not sure what would happen without sunscreen. Overall, I was very happy with this product.

Would not recommend unless your going somewhere with no wind

I’m glad we choose this model with 4 poles to give us maximum height. I especially like that it comes in a carry bag that includes 2 sand scoops to fill the weight bags with. There’s enough room in the bag for my 10 x 10 blanket to stuff in there as well.

Fantastic this tent works amazing on BC beaches! We put it up actually on a very windy day and only had to adjust the weight once by burying the sand feet under the sand. We love this It also helps defining your space on the beach no one runs their frisbee or ball through you!
