Has anyone figured out the manual feeding? I've tried following the instructions in the manual and it doesn't work.

you just push two buttons (arrow buttons) at same time and it will spit food out according to what size you have it set for

Is portion 9 the biggest portion size? I’m a bit confused on what 1-9 means in regards to portion. Is it just the size?

The automactic cat feeders is with 1-4 meals and each meal can be set from 1 to 9 portion. So one day you can set 4 meals and each meal is 9 portion, totally one day will be 36 portion. Sincerely hope this will help you.

Can you set the portion to 2/3 cup?

There's only a set portion size as 1,2,3... which i think 1 portion is a little less than 1/4 cup

my cat needs 3/4 cup daily & I do 4 meals, on the back it says portion 3. Is it feeding him 3/4 cup each time or through all feeding is it 3/4 a day?

a serving on this feeder is about 1 tablespoon. There are 12 tablespoons in 3/4 cup. So if you want to feed your cat 4 times a day then you should program it for 3 portions for each time you choose.. It is feeding your cat 3 tablespoons each meal that way.
