Love this lip stain color is amazing it’s buildable to make it more intense color.

This is a review for the Practically Permanent Lip Stain in the color Miss Berry by r.e.m. beauty. At the time of writing this review, it is being sold for $17.00. I am so so glad that stains are coming back into fashion! They're truly the best way to achieve a long lasting color on the lips. And this one is no exception. My only complaint is the format of this stain - the felt tip pen can be hard to use - you need to shake it a couple of times to cover your entire lip. I will note that this does not irritate my sensitive skin at ALL, it is a very gentle formula. The color payoff is fantastic. It is a beautiful cool toned berry color and if you use more than one layer the color goes even deeper. At the price, it is a bit higher than most stains, but it is also a truly vegan and cruelty free product that works very well. I do think it is a good value for the price - this is a high quality product. I want to get it in Popular next!

The color was very pretty, but there was no pigment transfer after the first use.

I really love this color, and the stain itself works pretty well. I always have mixed feelings about stains because they tend to wear off unevenly, and I don't find that very flattering. This happens to me with all stains, though. I think if this was your first layer of color, and you had a lipstick on top, you'd get better longevity, but this formula doesn't mix well with all lipstick formulas. One day I tried it and it pilled up with the other lip product.

I don’t love this r.e.m. beauty lip stain. The color “Miss Berry” is really pretty, and it starts off looking strong, but the formula itself is on the dry side and it pulls on my lips when I try to apply it. I store it upright with the marker tip facing down, so it’s not a storage issue, it just doesn’t stay wet enough to glide on smoothly. Because of that, applying it feels like more work than it should be, especially for something at this price point. I’ve given it multiple chances, but I keep reaching for a drugstore lip stain that’s half the price and performs better. At $17 (when I ordered it), this should be outperforming cheaper options, not struggling just to line my lips. The color is nice, but the application makes it frustrating to use. I don’t recommend it.
