Old pump became really noisy and even after log soaks in vinegar would not work well and clean up. This one is much quieter and has good pressure. easy to clean. Fit perfectly with good flow rate.

I had been sooooo frustrated with this pump motor as I replaced the one that came with my brand new unit about a year after I bought it. Then, only a couple months later, the new one quit working! I was really upset and knew I had seen some reviews about the same thing. I reviewed the page again to read the instructions on cleaning to ensure I wasn't missing anything. The only thing I struggled with in the past was cleaning the inside of the motor unit. I religiously clean every single part of the Drinkwell fountain, filters, etc. at least twice each week, but was still having issues and still saw little black specs floating in the water. I didn't think my motor pump would actually open up as described (I figured mine was slightly different than described on line), but low and behold, the tiny little seam in the plastic DOES open if you get your fingernail in there. And it comes off pretty easily. Then you can remove the inside parts as described on the seller's page and clean them thoroughly, adding a drop of vegetable oil on the inside metal pin as described. Voila! It worked! It even worked on the "old" one that I set aside months ago thinking it was trash. Now I have two that work. I can't tell you how excited I was to fix both of these and now realize how quickly all that "gunk" builds up inside the motor and must be cleaned to operate correctly over time. Give it a try -- you'll be so much less frustrated and won't have to buy a whole new fountain.

I have had trouble with these items not working after the pump is removed for cleaning the fountain, and it sits for a while. I have fixed the pumps by soaking them in vinegar and testing them periodically until they run. Otherwise it works and the noise level is undetectable (all you will hear is the water).

I bought this water pump in July 2025 (its 2/2026 now). It worked great until I went to clean it and replace the filter (which I do every 3 weeks) and it would not come back on. I even unassembled it thinking, maybe I put it back together wrong, and I even referred back to the instructions. Even after troubleshooting it, it would not come back on. I even changed outlets too. Bummed it only worked for 6 months. The first pump that it came with worked for 2 years.

My Fountain stopped working the other day and my cats were miserable, thankfully Amazon was able to get me a pump the next day and I set it up as soon as I got home. I have happy kitties again and the pump that works so amazingly well, with an awesome flow rate. I did not realize just how crappy the original pump was all these years. It's nice to have a pump with suction Feet Again, because it stays in place. I'm super happy with my purchase and it saved me from having to replace the entire fountain. I have the Drinkwell 360° and this is basically identical to the original pump. Remember to keep the uptake tube! The pump comes with the adapter, so it's good to go. I will update this review if it doesn't last, the original one I had for 7 years.

Brought to replace a broken cat water fountain pump. The new pump is supplied with an 'American' plug/transformer (as shown in the pictures), so an adaptor would be required if you need to replace everything. However the new pump can be plugged into the old transformer if it is still working. Pump working well with no issues.

The voltage is wrong!
