Perfect replacement for old style rotary switch
The Air Vent wall switch is the perfect replacement for the old style rotator style switches. Its modern look and ease of installation and function can't be beat. We like how easy it is to switch the whole house fan on and off to the different speeds now. Just press the bottom of the switch and the fan is on low, press the top of the switch and its on high. We have also noticed the fan seems to run smoother and quieter with this switch in comparison to the old switch, not sure why but it could have been a power feed problem with the old switch. Installation of this switch is straight forward if you understand basic electrical wiring. Instructions are included within the bi-fold packaging card showing the correct wiring diagram for hooking up wires. Over all we are pleased with the switch and its operation.

Great quality
It took a while to receive due to shipping delays. But so glad it arrived safely and in perfect condition. My husband replaced an old switch we've had for 30 years so it looks so much better. It works as it should. I definitely recommend this seller.

but I prefer that "off" is in the middle like this one has
I bought this switch for a whole house fan. I broke the original one that came with the fan when trying to separate it from the switch plate - I was connecting to a timer and wanted to use a two gang outlet cover instead of the one it came with. Anyway, this one arrived today, works perfectly, plus has three advantages over the original:- It's standard size so I can use a normal outlet cover, the one that came with my fan is an odd size and so I was not sure what I was going to do when I wanted to replace with a two gang cover.- A very minor point, but I prefer that "off" is in the middle like this one has; press up for high speed or down for low speed. On the original, off is on top so in order to use low speed you have to press past high speed.- It's significantly less expensive than replacing with the part that GAF sells.

Just What I was Looking For
First off, the description for the product was wrong. It is described as a rotary switch, but shows the picture of a 2-speed rocker switch. Then, when I proceeded to checkout, the picture shows a 2 speed rotary switch. I did NOT receive a rotary switch, but a rocker Hi/Low switch, which is what I intended to order. Amazon really needs to clean up the details to avoid buyer confusion so customers can save time and frustration and order what they need.I ordered this switch to install with a 2-speed whole house fan. It came with a small standard switch, and I wanted a larger decora type switch instead. I connected it along with a Leviton LTB02-1LZ DECORA 1800W Incandescent/20A Resistive-Inductive 1HP Preset 15-30-60-120 Minute Countdown Timer Switch, with the load output of the timer switch connecting to the Load screw on the 2-way switch where the hot (black) wire would normally go. It appears to be well made and works well so far.The only complaints I have are:1) There were no instructions that came with the unit. This wasn't a big deal, except I didn't know which screw was for "high" and which was for "low". There is an A1 connection on the top, and a B1 connection on the bottom. Now, I assumed the A1 would be for "high" since the it was next to the "high" button. This was wrong, and I had to reverse the wires. Not a big deal, but some instructions would've been nice and would've save me some time.2) The terminal screws are threaded into a flat piece of metal that holds the screw in place, while allowing the head of the screw to move away from the switch enough to fit your wire. Well, I didn't realize that if I unscrewed it too much, that piece of metal would fall back inside the device and be a pain to line up again. I probably should've realized the configuration before unscrewing it all the way, but as a force of habit I did it without thinking. Again, not a big deal, but another time waster as I struggled to get the screw reattached.Overall, I'm pleased with the product and would recommend it.

Good switch, looks great!
Was pretty easy to hook up. Make sure to shut off your power to the switch before remove the old switch unless you are comfortable working with a hot wire. It looks much better than my black twist knob switch with a stainless color plate. It seems to work well. One thing I noticed is in the listing it shows the correct switch but when I was sent the order Information, it showed the incorrect switch (a white twist knob). But I recieved the correct flat Decora style switch. Overall, I'm happy with it!

Works like it should
Installed for attic fan that the previous rocker switch fell apart. It was easy to install (about 10 min). The wires from the fan are seated into the back of the switch. High and low speeds work like they should. I read a few reviews where they said the high and low speeds were reversed...switch the speed control wires around and youโre good to go. Would recommend and buy again if it comes to it.

It works great
It's a great 2 wire (low/high) fan switch. I only wish they had a smart (Echo, Google, etc) version. All the smart fan switches use a sliding power output (think dimmer) and my fan wants 2 separate inputs. It's also hard because most vendors don't show pictures that make it clear that it is a 2 (hot) wire switch. Anyway, other than not being smart (nor costing as much), it's a great switch and has worked great.

Key to success is locating which wire is HOT & place in upper left position...
Purchased as a replacement for a 40-year old Airmaster whole-house fan switch that burnt out. The directions call for 2 black wires, 1 red wire and a ground. Our home has 1 black, 1 red, 1 white and a ground wire. The ground wire was easy, but the remaining wires were difficult to get right. We started with the black on the left as shown in the instructions, a red on the right top and the remaining white on the lower right. This scenario provided us with no power at all on the low setting and very low performance on the high setting. After reading a Q&A question indicating that the white wire should be capped off; we revisited the wiring and tried that scenario. This left us with no power at all to the switch. We purchased a Klein electrical tester, powered off the electrical again, removed all of the wiring from the switch and tested for the hot wire. It turns out that our hot wire was the white wire (only wire that registered activity on the tester with the electricity turned on). So, we put the white wire on the upper left (hot position), left the red in the upper right position, and moved the black to the lower right. Now, the power was back, and both speeds were working again. However, the high and low speeds were reversed. We then reversed the two wires on the right - moved the red to the lower right and moved the black to the upper right; and everything was back on track... What we thought would be a five minute job turned into a three hour fiasco.. None of our wire colors aligned with the instructions, and having the tester to isolate the hot wire saved the day. Then by process of elimination, we were able to figure out which of the two remaining wires were high vs. low.I decided to leave this review, because I had read a few reviews stating that their low speed wasn't working, so maybe these buyers were experiencing the same issue - their hot wire was not positioned properly in the upper left position... Good luck!
