This strap cutter is actually better than I expected. I've been doing leatherwork for quite a few years, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the build and the ease of use. The length of the tool helps to consistently guide the leather to prevent shifting of the strap as it's being cut, left or right, producing a clean straight result.

This thing works well as long as the first cut is on a straight piece.. Blade has lasted for a while, and a new one was included..

While the product cuts and measures accurately the durability seems a bit soft for the would and has a crack in it out the package. Setting the blade thickness is easy but the screw isn’t attached well to the flat holder and come apart easy. Design works well and blade cuts great. Just wish the wood wasn’t cracked and the crew held together more permanently.

The product is fine, cuts firm leather much easier. Only downside i had wasn't even with the product but Amazon took a week to charge me. I can't be the only one annoyed by that system

The opening in the handle for the cross arm is a little too small. To get the cross arm to insert you must adjust the thumb screw to the point that it is opened all of the way and only then can you insert the cross arm which is still a tight squeeze. In fact so close that you really do not need to tighten the thumb screw as the cross arm will remain in place without it being tightened. I can turn the thumb screw about a quarter turn and it is as tight as it will get and ensures the cross arm does not move. However, once you do get the device assembled and adjusted for the width of strip you want it works great! The strips in the picture was from 5oz (2mm) leather, but I cut some from a piece that was around 11oz (4.5mm) and it cut just as easy as the thinner leather. The other issue I have is that there was supposed to be extra blades, but the kit I received had a small plastic container that would have held the extra blades but the container was open in the box and I think the extra blades came out and then slid out of the box while it was in shipment as I now only have the single blade that was already in the tool. I will inquire about some extra blades and I think I will carefully widen the opening to give me a little more room and ease the assembly some. Must be sure to keep the opening square so that the cross arm remains perpendicular to the handle. These two issues are the reason for the 3 stars. It is a handy tool, easy to use, and is a great price.

So far I’m very happy with this tool. Once set, it doesn’t slip its setting. Cuts great straight from the box. Well made at an acceptable price.

An excellent strap cutter , good design, feels good quality , easy to set up and use , makes cutting straps , gussets and other pre determined width items up to the limits of the cutter

I bought three wooden strap cutters trying to replace my old trusted one that died. This, my fourth (and cheapest) recent purchase, is the first that is actually accurate. Thank you.
