I feel like the victim in a sci-fi horror flick. There I was watering my plants when something “bit” me though my clothes! Mistakenly thinking ‘ant” (red ant), I went ahead and swatted the area to get rid of it. Nope, it looked like a wasp (and now an angry one) who managed to sting me two additional times! Worse burning pain ever! I dropped everything, washed the bites, showered, cleaned the bite areas again, applied a cold compress, then applied my regular bite ointments…. then aloe….. then some cold cubes in a paper towel and absolutely nothing stopped or reduced the pain. A friend then explained how being stung by a wasp is different than a bite from a mosquito (city girl here). He recommended Cortizone-10 to stop the itching. I read ‘maximum strength fast itch relief,‘ saw the rollerball applicator (didn’t want to waste time trying to decide between cream vs ointment), clicked ‘buy’, and painfully waited for my one-day delivery. LOL! It seemed like a small bottle (1.5 oz) for my 3 big stings, but a small amount seems to spread a long way. The liquid itself rolls on smooth, is not greasy, and distributes evenly with a texture (?) that’s not too thick or runny that is quickly absorbed so you have no staining/residue to worry about on clothes. It has a very faint neutral scent and that active ingredient of 1% hydrocortisone is definitely a game changer when it comes to itch relief from wasp stings (especially since I had 3 of them). I remember reading somewhere that the pain & itchiness from a wasp sting can last for “several days”. Truthfully, the worse pain stopped about 20 minutes after being stung, it was the burning itchiness pain that was driving me nuts and why I ordered this. All I can say is this stuff really works! I admit, the first day I may have gone a little overboard and applied it more than 4 times, BUT… my stings did not itch AND I actually slept through the night. The next two days, I applied ‘as needed’ which worked out to 3 times daily. The following two days I only applied once after showering in the morning since drying off rekindled a mild itching episode. By now, the itchiness was no longer a bother, the swelling had mostly gone down, and all that remained was the redness and a white line by the bites. Yay! The best part of it all? I didn’t use up the whole bottle and have plenty left! I love the compact size and at 4” tall it’s great for storing upright on a shelf in my medicine cabinet or on the counter. It doesn’t take up much space & is light enough to include in your backpack when hiking, your first aid kit, and it’s also travel friendly. Granted, you may be paying a little more per ounce for the style and convenience, but it does work quickly on wasp stings when you need it. I highly recommend & 5 stars! Well worth the next-day wait!

I hate chiggers. We seem to have an undying population in the spring and summer. This roll-on Cortizone was so easy to use and it really did take it out.

I've been dealing contact dermatitis on my arms lately. While not as effective as a prescription strength steroid, hydrocortisone has been somewhat acceptable for soothing the itch. Unfortunately my body seems to have trouble absorbing the normal ointment/cream based hydrocortisone, especially since the rash has made my skin so dry. I found this and saw it was a liquid-based hydrocortisone, and tried it out figuring it would absorb easier. So far it's been a LOT better than ointment/cream. It's so much thinner than the ointment, so it absorbs very quickly, with much faster relief. I feel like a single application of this gives quicker and better relief than several applications of ointment over a period of time. Maybe it's just a placebo effect of trying something new, but so far it seems more effective. It also doesn't leave much residue, if any. It is slightly thicker than water as there are other ingredients, but 95% of it will absorb or evaporate within a minute. When you first open it, it doesn't apply very well, but shake it good and then use a lot of pressure, and spread it liberally. Eventually it will come out easier. Sometimes I do miss the cool and soothing feeling that applying a cream initially has, but given how much more effective this seems I prefer this.

I have a pretty intense reaction when I'm stung by a mosquito. It's not just itching, a red rash starts to spread around the entire area where I've been bitten and the feeling is almost unbearable. I have been using cortisone itch cream for years for both mosquito bites and rashes. When I saw that this was a travel size n I could keep in my dog walking bag that was a done deal! I already tried it I was bit three times this morning and it does exactly what it's supposed to - STOP the itch almost immediately. The rollerball is fantastic, ABSOLUTELY NO MESS or need to wipe my hands after using it. LOVE IT.

This works great on bug bites! The roll-on is so soothing and effective on skin itching and bug bites.

Too many fire ants in Texas! This item is a life saver! Couldn't survive without it!
