Good quality.
I could have got a generic microphone but reading comments about getting the correct plug then others saying to get adapters. I thought stuff it, spend the extra fiver and get one that is made for the camera. The sound quality is great, I had to put it behind the cheek piece of the helmet to cut out wind noise but my voice is clear and you can hear the engine noise.

How to set up a Drift Ghost S external microphone
Bought this after reading reviews on the performance over the external microphone on the Drift Ghost S camera. On first use after inserting it into my helmet the results were excellent. The next test was out on the road which was not so good with a lot of wind interference. The way to get the best out of the microphone is to reduce the sensitivity of the microphone in the camera setup to the middle setting No1 with No3 being the highest. You also need to insert the microphone behind the cheek pad inside the helmet. The result makes for a pretty good sound track that you will want to keep on your video. I tested it up to 70mph. The quality of the microphone is excellent. The difficulty is in keeping the microphone out of the wind. Very difficult to do on any motorbike. The end result will depend on how much protection you get from your screen and keeping the microphone out of the wind. I intend to use my setup for filming scenery abroad traveling at no more than 50mph and it performs very well at that speed.

Seems good - note different size jack needed on older Drift cameras.
I bought this by mistake thinking that all Drift mics were the same. I have an older DriftHD camera (1080 before the Ghost). That needs a 2.5mm mono jack whereas this comes with a 3.5mm jack. It worked fine thorugh a 3.5 to 2.5mm stereo adapter however and I then cut off the jack and put a 2.5mm one on and that works fine. There is background noise on recordings but that may be the camera rather than the mic. It is not bad noise and can also be easily removed in something like Audacity. The clip and mic body are metal so hopefully its a bit more robust than the cheapo auction site mics. I had one of those which worked fine but then one day just went pop and died. It actually happened whilst I was using it for a test at home - no abuse. The windcover is too loose and falls off straightaway on the Drift mic. Note - it is directional so will obviously work best if the end is pointing towards what you are recording.

Works great
Absolutely brilliant for motorcycles wind noise mic inside helmet makes playback a pleasure 👍👍👍

Alright
It's not terrible, however the clip holding the microphone on snapped with zero effort. The cable is also really long which makes it hard to fit into a helmet without leaving wiring everywhere. The jack was also pretty loose in the microphone port.

Nice bit of kit
Easily fitted to my LS2 FF906 helmet and Ghost XL Pro intercom. Really neat, small and unobtrusive. Sound quality is great on playback. Definitely worth having.

Does what it needs too.
Bought to use in my Motorcycle helmet while touring using my Drift Camera. Seems to work fine. Quality appears to be good although it does pick up a lot of wind noise. The Sponge wind cover is next to useless and will fall off. i secured this with a bit of tape when i was securing the mike inside the helmet. Plenty of cable length to route it where you like.

Great Traditional Microphone - - - Awesome Quality! Read for Details!
Note: I did not use it to record A/V, but rather with an intercom system I built. This microphone contains a permanently charged material (called an electret microphone), so it does not require any external power source, such as a plug or battery connected to it. I wired this up to a pair of headphones and a 3.5mm audio jack in order to create a microphone headset. I installed this into my helmets for when I go on motorcycle rides with others. NOTE: IT IS NOT OMNI-DIRECTIONAL. (Either a plus or negative depending on your usage). The sound quality at 60+ mph speeds, with wind, was great and clear; I could hear the speaker without any hesitation in understanding. It was just like a phone call inside the house. However, it is susceptible to vibrations more than it is with wind. Jolts will typically register some noise, but it's not a problem for conversational uses. For recording usage, say for films or video projects, 3rd party audio editing software may be needed to censor and dim these unwanted noises IF they register (you'd have to abnormally bump the microphone hard if you're simply standing in one spot, vs. going 60-70mph over a bumpy highway on a little bike with little suspension). Sound quality: 9.5 / 10 - - - - (Excellent sound quality, but took off a half star because it's obviously no audiophile microphone. Build quality is not really important, as the wires (about 34-42 AWG) are inside a molded rubber encasing at the plug end and crimped at the mic end; moreover, the soldering quality was good quality and on-point. This means that the wires, though small, aren't susceptible to being pulled out or torn very easily. Also, since there is no battery source required, and the cord is plenty long enough, you don't need to worry about future purchases (such as a new battery or cord extension), meaning you can buy, use, focus on other things, and not worry. However, though the foam serves its purpose in wind reduction (yes, it does), I found it didn't reduce noise as much (probably lowered it 75-78% as much as another microphone I own: Insten VOIP / SKYPE Mini Flexible Microphone - Black ) but it was still adequate, especially for lower-demanding environments (ie. not on a fast motorcycle). Build Quality/longevity: 9 / 10 - - - - (Good enough, won't fall apart even with "unintentional heavy use" and will serve you well---the foam took off one point) The cord is 1 meter long, and for you motovloggers and adventurists out there: you can't go wrong with this mic. EVEN if you do not own the DRIFT HD GHOST-S DIGITAL VIDEO ACTION CAMERA CAMCORDER or Drift Innovation HD Ghost Wi-Fi Waterproof Digital Video Action Camera Camcorder you may use with a computer, other video camera, or even phone (though, the latter may be more subjective to phone type). Overall, a good, versatile microphone with many uses and great quality. other microphones may cost a little less, but do not offer the flexibility that this microphone does. You can clip it on a shirt, collar, pole, or, like I did, even a stiff metal wire along the cord itself to make an adjustable boom mic! Good buy, I would definitely recommend! With Grace and Peace, -Sam

Man versteht mich dennoch einwandfrei. Weiter: 120km/h.
