The Jungle Book (MinaLima Edition) (Illustrated with Interactive Elements)

This book is just amazing and beautiful. The story is a classic, of course, so I'm focused on this book's edition. Mina Lima is incredible and did the art for the Harry Potter films. You can find them on instragram at @minalima - they're just amazing. They carry over their style to these classics that they're illustrating with a publisher and it's just so, so beautiful. I have three of these books and still need Secret Garden, Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland to complete the set, but I hope they don't stop there...I'd love to see excerpts from 1001 Nights and many others. With the exotic elements of the jungle, the illustrations are just beautiful - I'd love prints of much of this to hang in my home. The interactive elements are things like pull-out maps, fold out banners, a tree you and pull a tab on that changes the appearance, spinners, etc. Each element like that is protected by a thin sheet of paper in the packaging. It's also plastic wrapped. There is absolutely nothing I don't love about this edition and I would recommend it to everyone. It would also make for a great gift under $20 for people who appreciate this kind of thing. I wouldn't say it's really for younger kids, but older kids who have an appreciation for their possessions might enjoy and take care of it. I would hate to see any of these books abused...they really are works of art.

Stunning illustrations great quality book. I buy a book from this line of books every year and use the blank first page as a guest book for my daughter so she will have a collection of beautiful books and knows how much everyone loves her!

I recently purchased the Jungle Book interactive story for my one-year-old son, and it's been a huge hit in our household! The illustrations are incredibly cool, capturing his attention from the get-go. What's even better is the level of interaction on each page—perfect for keeping my little one engaged. As long as he isn't busy trying to pull the book apart, he's fully immersed in the story. I'm thoroughly impressed and would definitely consider buying more books like this if they're available. It's been a joy watching my son enjoy this interactive adventure!

This is a great presentation of the jungle book. I really enjoyed all of the artistic thought and design that went into the finished product. Tons of illustrations make it very attractive for all ages. The pages don’t sit flat, and it kind of reminds me of a scrapbook. I think that’s the point a great classic story that keeps the little ones engaged. I am very happy with this unique book.

So colorful! It’s the best

I was hesitant about this purchase from reading the reviews so I want to make it clear that this review is for the hardcover version. It is absolutely beautiful. I love that it shows a map of the area the story takes place - which immediately sets up your imagination to take over. The little extras are fun - the pull out maps and the cut outs, especially. Some aren't entirely useful, IMO, but it does little to detract from the overall presentation. I've already started reading this to my 5-year-old and he loves it.

We have each of these books, and they are great. The books themselves are good quality, and the child's dad can easily read the print at bedtime--they are best read aloud even for early readers. The interactive designs--unfolding castles and gardens and wheels that turn--are very engaging. Parents may want to preview the stories or the reading selection and be prepared to skip any parts that are not suitable for the age of child. These are old stories and you may find derogatory remarks or actions that you can not endorse. The books are worth using a little caution.

Nicely illustrated and still inspires the imagination of younger readers even after a century since being published.

The book is beautiful, only 4 stars because packaging didn't protect the book correctly and it arrived damaged on the corners and the plastic wrapping was also damaged

The Minalina illustrated editions are all gorgeous as ever. It features beautiful illustrations and some interactive parts of the book. The pages with additional popups and interactive parts all have sheets of paper between them and the opposite page to protect the book. I took most of them out, however as shown in one of my photos, you can see one of the interactive pieces with a wheel fixed in has left a circular dent on the protective sheet. I’d recommend keeping the insert for this element in, as it will leave indentations in the neighbouring page without it. These books are great for kids and adults alike - I’m currently building up my book collection on my bookcase and these are really eyecatching.
