Rubber seemed decent quality. Fitted on a 2001 VW Cabrio skuttle. Trimmed off old seal leaving about 2mm of the old seal then trimmed new seal to fit both halves of the skuttle.

Works great. I saved $300.00. You can buy a new cowl for the ford escape or you can use this. It is very small and it barely covers the area but I blame the cowl since it is old and it is bend in the middle. The product it is easy to install. If you have the money to buy the cowl for you car do it. If you want to try and make it look 80% better but this and save money. It does not have self adhesive and it might not be needed. I was able to install it without glue hopefully stays with the sun doing it thing.
