Kna vv-3 pickup works well with my viola
Pickup arrived promptly, well packaged and with clear simple instructions. Included was a little tool to tighten the barrels on the attached good quality "carpenter style" jack socket. The barrels were long enough to fit my viola, though I wonder if they might struggle with a very large instrument? The kna website suggests the pickup ships with spare longer barrels for such an instrument? As a precaution, I loosened the top two strings to avoid any distortion in shape of the bridge and set too with emery boards (used to file finger nails.) In no time at all, I had a snug fit for the piezo element. (See the photo) First impressions: plugged into a 1M ohm instrument input- a balanced, warm sound with lots of signal (more than I was expecting). Eventually, I boosted the presence and cut a little of the lows to closer resemble the acoustic sound of my viola. Not that you'll need to if using say, a smaller guitar amp. 😁 After a good long play, I was impressed by the usability of the sound - NO buzz, distortion, or hum. Maybe use a hi-pass filter to minimise handling noise if going into a large pa? As someone who's used amplified strings many years- my violin has the (industry standard) L.R. Baggs fitted - I'm VERY impressed, especially considering the price!

Violin pickup
This is a pretty good pickup, the sound quality is good and the response level is high. It took a bit of sanding of the bridge to get it to fit into the slot, and we chose to put it on the bass side for ease.

Great little pickup
Easy to fit, you have to slacken the strings right off to get it under the ties. I ditched the supplied lead, it's cheap quality and not suitable for the job. I replaced it with a 12" long quality 3.5 to 6.35 jack socket lead and gaffer taped it to the body of the uke. I also cut a piece of cork to fit snugly under the body of the pickup - this seems to eliminate the possibility of it snapping off by accident. If you keep the lead of out of the way it doesn't make interfering noises. I've plugged it into my Vox Valvetronix amp and I'm well pleased with the sound quality. A great (and cheap) way to amp up your uke. I dropped a star because of the cheapo supplied lead. *postcript* Second photo is Mk2 with a more permanent fixture for the ¼ " socket made from a tin can lid and leather.

Superb.
Superb pic up for my 200 year old cello. Easily fitted, and stable once in place. Perfect for when I’m playing in public, plugging it directly into my Bose amp…no need for any additional pedals. Sound is far better than the much more expensive pic ups I’ve tried in the past. Thank you.

Surprisingly good
The sound from this pickup is remarkably good. I’ve gigged with it playing through a tonedexter wavemap/preamp into house PA systems where it sounds good and quite acoustic violinish I’m told though part of that is down to the tonedexter. Into an LR Baggs di it’s ok. No tendency to feedback. It does need careful fitting to the bridge. So pleased I bought 2 more, one for my viola and one for my second fiddle.

Excellent
Fit this to my violin over two years ago because I wanted to play my violin on stage and not my electric one. Aside from once or twice it’s slipped off (and honestly, it probably got yanked by accident and I didn’t notice until it later fell off), I can’t fault the thing. Was easy to fit, I keep mine on my violin all the time mostly because im lazy but also because you don’t really notice it’s there so… path of least resistance. This survived a hell of a UK tour (in terms of small town music drama, not a notable set of performances), countless pub open mic nights and more drunken playing than I’ll admit to, and it’s never even wavered once in sound or output. I’ve had more than my money’s worth from this and it holds its own really well in what’s a really expensive area of the market to get something that sounds solid and is also reliable. I really rate this thing, if anything happens to the one I’ve got now, there’s a good chance it’ll be replaced with the exact same one again

May need some work to fit the pick up.
You may have to file your bridge down to accommodate the pick up. Sound is pretty good, especially for the price.

Does not fit a normal violin bridge (4/4 size)
BEWARE. It did not fit and was therefore useless. I saw some reviews to that effect and should have listened. It is too big to fit where it should.

Good sound
I have a 50yr old Yamaha acoustic guitar. This pickup captures the sound of the guitar very well. Nice option for not cutting into the guitar for an on board pick up .
