I recently purchased this large print edition of a Superman comic book, and I'm absolutely thrilled with it! I literally received my copy, pre-ordered in January, moments ago, along with Phantom Stranger Omnibus, so I and especially my eldest son have had a rich day in graphic arts indeed. "Clark Kent, you're as big as a barn!" someone in a Smallville diner explains. This book is lovely and clothbound, with a cover wife son, and younger son had to feel. The story is simple. It's a retelling of the small points in the classic myth and my favorite of the Loeb-Sale works... I highly recommend and even more so, if you find the pennies in the couches, in this format. The art by Sale in the Batman books especially has overtones of Citizen Kane... this reminds me of Norman Rockwell, Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man," with longshots worthy of a John Ford film. Thank you!

I already have the 2023 TPB release. So why double dip? Three reasons: - The glorious artwork by the legendary Tim Sale needs to be enjoyed in the oversize format, where the redone colors shine brighter. - One of the finest Superman stories of all time needs to be collected in the most premium format made available by DC. (Also, how many stories of Supes do you see in the Absolute format? Even DC snubs the big blue boy, alas.) - The slipcover finish, the binding, and the extras are all pretty exquisite! About the book: In the world of Superman comics, there are zillions of stories focusing on his origins, or his beginnings. In such a tremendously oversaturated market, this story manages to stand out as the most poignant. The engaging narrative, creatively delivered with the "four seasons" analogy/framework result in an outstanding experience that's certain to leave a lasting impact on the reader for a long while! I consider this + Superman: Birthright = the definitive "Year One" for Supes.

Do yourself a favor — do not buy this on Kindle. It's a great story and it looks nice there too, but the slipcase print edition is just beautiful and truly spectacular. This is a work of art. The kind of book you're going to want to pass down to someone when you die. The way it's printed, the size it's printed, the way it's bound, the way the art comes through . . . You need to get this before it goes out of print and starts selling at double or triple its original price.

The most beautifully presented Absolute I have seen so far. The story is awesome and the art is timeless. Get this one.

The artwork by Tim Sale really shows the warm big heart of the man of steel. A story about being different in a world where people expect normalcy out of you.This Story feels like a warm but real reflection of growing up moving out the house having struggle in life but when it gets hard parents are always there to help. In the end it’s a story of perseverance, love, and having the right to be accepted as this is a tale of the champion of the oppressed Superman.

I got this book for my son that loves comic books especially superman .its a beautiful well design book comes with a cover book and he has enjoyed reading it greatly. You will not regret this book if your son or daughter is into Superman it is a collection and one of its kind..

Absolutely adorable story… Superman is just a darling here… This is why he deserves to be the first superhero … along with mesmerising artwork by Tim Sale (RIP🙏) and colours by Bjarne Hansen… this book is one of my dearest and precious collection … highly recommended for purchase
