Is this good for a single person or couple?

It can be used for either or! My husband is a truck driver and uses it a lot and loves it! It’s big enough for a meal for two or a single serving! Def worth the price!

Will this hot pot cooker work for pancake?

Yes, almost certainly. There's two degrees I heated the electric hot pot on high level, and brush with butter. Cook until surface of pancakes have some bubbles and a few have burst, 1 to 2 minutes. It worked great

Does it turn off at a certain temperature ?

It has 2 temp options. High and low. It seems to maintain which ever temp chosen. It's not an all or nothing thing. It could Def use more choices but if I want it lower than the low I turn it on cover it and then shut it off and keep the cover in place. High is high enough to low boil so I mean it does a lot for what it is

What can you steam with this?

I have steamed veggies with it. Broccoli, cauliflower, green beans so far and they come out perfect. I have not done rice yet.
