for the money it’s a great light! nice and bright with easy to use customisation as well as a 24h mode. it’s grown my plants nicely but i can’t comment on its longevity yet. my only complaint is for some reason when the light is on the lowest brightness it makes a hissing noise but if you don’t use it on that setting it’s not too much of an issue. overall 4.5/5

I love this light honestly. I customized it to mimic a sunset, day, sunrise pattern and it’s beautiful. I use a UV filter along with it so I dont have to worry about algae booms from relatively long hours under a light. My light malfunctioned within the year warranty and they were very quick and helpful to get it replace it and get it working again. I was bummed when it stopped working because I love it so much but within a week it’s up again! Brightness ranges from very soft to pretty intense so it can be whatever you need it to be.

This light is perfect for me in every way, except the lack of waterproof. I would glady pay extra for this feature in case of accidentally getting it wet. The functionality to set the schedule with gradation between each setting and being able to set the specific color and brightness is awesome. Mine unfortunately is not working after getting wet inside. But honestly I'm going to get a new one and try to waterproof it myself.

I research long and hard for a new aquarium tank light system. When I first got the light system the controller had a problem. I contacted their customer support and after they checked everything. It appears that it was a simple manufacturer error. They shipped a replacement and everything is perfect. The light system is great. I love the preset lighting to simulate the time of day. I had to set up a separate fish tank after a bought claw frogs and found out they will eat other fish. They love the new tank and I love the light system. I’m buying another one to replace the other fish tank. Thank you

I added this to my fluval flex 15g and it gave me the carpet of s.repens I wanted, really great for growing plants and showing the fish's color. The remote makes it easy to control any algea breakouts and the daytime and nighttime cycles really useful and nice to look at.

The 18 W light output is great for my 5.5 gallon tank, and a huge improvement over the floor lamp I was using before. I appreciate that the remote stores the programming so it doesn’t get reset if the light is unplugged, especially since I have a custom “DIY mode” program set up. Doing that isn’t nearly as difficult as the reviews here would have you believe. It’s not the most user-friendly process (honestly, just nicer and more responsive buttons would help a lot) but it’s not too hard. The biggest problem I’ve encountered with it has been the included power adapter. Setting the brightness under 10-15% (depending on the color, I imagine because different color LEDs use different amounts of current) causes the power supply to make an awful screeching noise that increases in pitch as the brightness increases until it’s too high for me to hear. I might try buying a nicer one (the included one is 20 V at 2 A, for anyone wondering) and see if it’s better. Also, the remote has a “lightning storm mode” button. It does exactly what you’d expect: the light flashes on bright white for a fraction of a second every so often. Not sure why anyone would ever want this, and I regret pressing it out of curiosity.
