Good value size for cooking and cleaning and bath bombs
Great for cleaning and bath bombs et. I am recovering from serious illness and have limited energy, funds and want to avoid chemicals. Look up Japanese cleaning with this and Baking soda (bicarbonate of soda) WOW, it works and no harsh bleach or chemicals, saves me storage and expensive products. Baking Poweder and this are used differently, so Bicarb great for odaour and sparkling taps removng some reside. This great for cleaning brown staining. I use both now and good for cat ray washing (I have a stainless steel cat tray) as it doesn't harm my cat. I have used in food preserves to help with acidity when water bathing in a giant pot. Food lasted over a year. I made my own tomoato pasta sauce and added some of the citric acid to make it more acidic, it worked. SO easy, this brand is brilliant and good value.

Saves a fortune on supermarket descalers
I bought this 2kg bag specifically to descale my kettle and some crusty pots, and it works incredibly well. You only need a couple of tea spoons mixed with hot water, and the limescale just melts away. It leaves everything completely clean and shiny without any harsh chemical smells. A lot cheaper than individual liquid descalers. It's food grade, I don't have to worry about using it on things I cook with.

Ideal
Plenty of citric acid for DIY cooking, cleaning, and crafts — great value for 2 kg. The powder dissolves easily and works well in preserving, adding tart flavour, or descaling kettles and appliances.

Arksoy food grade citric acid is amazing.
I bought this as I had bought a digital urn to heat hot water..The manufacturer had recommended to use it to clean the limescale.Id never used it before so I had my doubts.I bought this Aksoy brand 2kg food grade.Boiled my urn put citric acid in the water gave it a stir with wooden spoon ..Honestly I could not believe my eyes after five minutes it was totally clean no limescale left at all it had totally dissolved..Apparently citric acid has been around for centuries. And is a natural ingredient.. it is fantastic to descale kettles and use as a cleaning aid..if you do decide to buy it make sure to buy food grade as it is safer to use.

If used for cleaning DO NOT mix with other cleaning agents.
Citric acid is excellent for cleaning aquarium equipment because it dissolves limescale, calcium deposits and hard water crust without leaving dangerous toxic residues behind when rinsed properly. Why it works: Limescale is mainly calcium carbonate. Citric acid reacts with it and breaks it down into water soluble compounds that rinse away easily. That fizzing you sometimes see is carbon dioxide being released as the limescale dissolves. Why aquarists use it: • Safe on glass • Safe on most plastics • Safe on filter housings • Safe on heaters and impellers • Much gentler than hydrochloric acid/spirit of salts • No harsh toxic fumes • Biodegradable • Easy to rinse away It is commonly used to clean: • External filters • Heater tubes • Spray bars • Glass lids • Pumps • Powerheads • Aquarium glass • Hard water stains Typical mix ratio: Light cleaning: • 1 to 2 tablespoons per litre of warm water Heavy limescale: • 4 to 6 tablespoons per litre of warm water Or roughly: • Around 5% solution for normal cleaning • Up to 10% for stubborn scale How to use it: Remove equipment from aquarium Mix citric acid into warm water Soak equipment from 30 minutes to several hours Use old toothbrush or soft brush if needed Rinse thoroughly with clean water Refit equipment For severe scale: • Warm solution works faster • Overnight soak is fine for most plastics and glass Avoid: • Natural marble/limestone decorations • Long soaks on bare metals • Mixing with bleach or other chemicals Compared with spirit of salts: Citric acid is slower but vastly safer and easier to control. Spirit of salts can damage seals, metals, skin, lungs and even produce dangerous fumes. Citric acid is much more forgiving for routine aquarium maintenance. It will not bleach clothes like chlorine bleach does, but concentrated powder can slightly lighten some fabrics if left sitting damp on them. Usually just rinse it off.

Excellent value. Descales my espresso machines successfully and without issue.
Very good value. My 'recipe' should you wish to know, is 50g of crystals to 1-litre of water. These crystals are very quick to dissolve. This is not always the case. I use the 'run through for about fifteen seconds and pause for twenty minutes leaving the machine hot' method. Repeating until the tank is empty. That's roughly four mugs of coffee. A couple of flush throughs removes any aftertaste. I have never had an issue. Both machines are typically treated at the end of every second month. Your machine(s) may have an automated descaling system but the recipe should still work.
