Excellent colour variety of oil pastels that are nice to use and offer a soft creamy medium. My kids have lvoed using these for art because the vibrant range of colours make them appealing and fun to use. I am happy for them to use these as they're an affordable option that balances good coverage and blendability with the price point. They draw well to my amateur hand...i certainly couldn't complain that the pastels were inhibiting my drawing ability!

I picked these up because they were cheap and I thought I wanted to have a go. They're really creamy and easy to blend and a lot of fun to use. The pastels are pigmented and lay down thickly so stop. I can't comment on the quality versus other brands cuz I haven't used other brands but I think these are perfectly serviceable for the price and especially if you're just starting out.

I love these oil pastels. They're by far my favourite brand. They're satisfying to use and create really nice effects. They don't smell like some other brands and aren't super greasy, or too hard. I wish they were lightfast rated so I could use them on proper pieces, but they're the set I reach for the most. More than my sennelier or Neopastels. Great bang for your buck.

Great range of colours. They are ok, not as smooth an application as the Paul Rueben oil pastels. They can get a little stiff when trying to blend them out with your fingers.

I don't usually review on Amazon but I figured it could help some other beginners. I bought these after purchasing some other pastels which I found were too hard and I am astounded at the quality for the price of the artecho pastels. Fully functional and fit for purpose. They look professional and carefully packed with a protective layer of sponge in the lid. The pastels themselves are soft and buttery. They smudge with your finger and blend well with each other. Apologies for the poor quality photos

Gorgeous set of oil pastels. Was recommended at the art class i go to. Good selection of colours and they blend well. Handy shade card inside. Wish it had more than one piece of the white colour pastel (thats only because I use it as lot)

Really lovely oil pastels, they lay down beautifully, the pallet is nice, they blend well, and are apparently nontoxic. The price was good too.

Los compré para tener unos pasteles al óleo básicos y me han sorprendido para bien. Los colores son bonitos y bastante vivos, y se aplican fácilmente sobre papel. Tienen buena pigmentación, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta el precio, y vienen en una caja ordenada que va bien para guardarlos. No son profesionales, pero para empezar o para usarlos en ratos libres están muy bien. Se difuminan con los dedos o con un poco de aceite, y mezclan decentemente entre ellos. El tamaño de cada barra es pequeño, pero suficiente si no los usas a diario. En resumen, si estás empezando con los pasteles al óleo o quieres algo económico para practicar, estos están genial. Calidad más que aceptable por el precio.

I purchased the 72 pastel set for $25 CAD. Gorgeous colors with good selection of lights & darks, vibrant hues and neutral colors. Very nice, buttery lay-down on Strathmore pastel paper, easy blending, lack of crumbs. After swatching these pastels against the 120 Mont Martre Extra Soft Oil Pastel set, I'm convinced that these are the same pastels in a different wrapper. Each color in the Artecho 72 set was in the Mont Martre 120 set - sometimes with the same name and sometimes named differently - and dimensions of pastels in each set were indistinguishable, as were their application and blending. If you can't find the Mont Martre 120 set, these are a great option. I'm ok with the color duplication because the price was really good and it provides replacement colors for my MM 120 set. UPDATE: The Artecho 120 color set is available on Amazon.com! Wish it was on the Canadian site. UPDATE (Mar27,2025): After using for a year, I still love these pastels. They layer onto other really soft pastels (e.g. Kuelox square). Upon closer inspection, the colors in the Artecho 72 set are NOT all duplicated in the full Mont Marte set and I really do think these are a different set! If the 120 Artecho set was sold on Amazon,ca, I'd definitely buy it!
