Solid little machine, literally ready to go out of the box!
I’ve been looking for a reliable welder for some projects around the house, and honestly, this thing exceeded my expectations. If you're looking for something that just works without a bunch of setup headaches, this is it. Everything you need is included The first thing I noticed was how complete the kit is. It comes with the stick holder, ground clamp, and even the power adapter. Usually, with these budget-friendly machines, you expect to have to run to the hardware store for a missing cable or adapter, but not here. I opened the box, plugged it in, and was ready to work in about five minutes. It’s a true "plug-and-play" setup. Super easy to weld As for the performance—it’s surprisingly smooth. The arc is very stable and starts up effortlessly, which is a huge plus if you aren't a professional welder. I’ve tried it on a few different thicknesses of steel, and it handles them like a champ. It doesn't "stick" nearly as much as some of the older, heavier transformers I've used in the past. Portable and Versatile It’s also way lighter than I thought it would be. You can easily carry it around the garage or yard with one hand. The dual voltage (110V/220V) is a lifesaver too; I can run it off my standard wall outlet for smaller fixes, but I have the option for more power if I need it. Final Thoughts For the price, you’re getting a lot of value. It feels sturdy, the fans keep it cool, and it hasn't tripped my breaker once. If you’re a DIYer or just need a dependable backup welder for the shop, I’d definitely recommend this one. 5 stars.

Solid Performance and Excellent portability
This was my first time using this welder. While it’s been some time since I last welded and I’d rate my skill level around a 3/5, the welder itself performed extremely well. Arc starting is very easy and consistent. I had no trouble striking an arc and achieved good penetration on 1/8" plate steel using a 3/16" 6013 rod at just under 40 amps. Welds were stable and predictable. I also used it to fill a hole in scrap plate steel left from a cutting torch. The welder handled the repair easily at 40 amps, and I believe a slightly lower setting would have produced an even cleaner result. The unit is lightweight and highly portable. Despite its size, it has more than enough power for the work I tested. This makes it especially useful for jobs where larger welders are impractical or where a 30-amp circuit isn’t available. One feature I appreciated is the built-in circuit test, which confirms adequate power before indicating readiness. This adds a level of safety and confidence when plugging into unknown outlets. The included stinger and ground clamp are better than expected. The stinger grips rods securely, the ground clamp provides a solid connection, and both cables are of adequate length. Connections to the welder are secure with a push-in, twist-lock design. Note: The manufacturer recommends using a main power connection. I ran it on a fairly loaded 20-amp circuit without issues. I plan to test it next with a small portable gas generator. Overall: Very satisfied with the performance and portability. I would purchase this welder again and will update the review after additional use.

Perfect little welder
Pleasantly surprised how well it welds right out of the box, once you dial the amps in for the rod being used can lay down some nice welds. Im sure when I break this great little welder in some more,it'll be able to stack dimes

Compact, simple & capable welder for hobbyists, artists & mechanics.
It works fine, easy to weld with. Nice smooth DC arc. Good quality cables & ground clamp. Very portable, capable, too. It shouldn't be able to run a big 5/32" rod, but it can! If you try to stick the rod, it detects the short circuit and turns the current off! However, it does get a little hungry at settings above 100 or so, and wants a little bit more power than a 20-Amp breaker or fuse wants to allow, and may pop the breaker or blow the fuse. Use 3/32" rod, which take less current, or 1/8" rod at settings below 100. Also good at low settings and either 1/16" or 5/64" rod.

Best Bang for Your $$$
I have welded for 20 years, 7 of those years I welded professionally. I compared this welder side by side to the Tooliom 135 A mini stick welder as well as a 300$ 110v Century arc welder. The Hone welder is very comparable to the 300$ Century but it outperformed it as the 300$ century wouldn’t run the same rods as well. (Was a close match-up) The Hone welder was significantly better than the Tooliom as the Tooliom ran rough with the rods and it was difficult to get the arc started at times. This Hone welder will run 1/16 and 3/32 rods like crazy! Super smooth. It will also run 1/8 rods but is on the cold side for those rods and the arc will occasionally go out (same as the 300$ Century welder) A 7 year old could light up an arc with the aid of the hot start, anti-stick and arc force features. It blew me away how easy it is to light and keep an arc alive with this Hone machine compared to say a Lincoln toomstone welder or a miller dial arc that dont have the new technology built in. For the Money and weight of this machine it is a no brainer. I wouldn’t Hesitate to buy it even for (light) professional work….if it breaks after 5 years just buy another one for 70$. I do not recommend it for heavy duty applications. I recommend upgrading the leads to something longer and the rod holder and ground clamp to something better. However, if you are a novice welder they will work just fine for a few years of learning and practice.

No regrets
This little welder ain't bad. First thing I did was hook up my amp clamp to check accuracy. I tested at 80 amps, 90, and 95. To my surprise it was spot on. The machine comes with the standard Chinese kb 200 stinger. I immediately replaced with something better. The ground clamp is pretty decent, so that gets to stay. It runs a nice bead. For the price, it seems like a great buy. Time will tell how well it holds out, but so far so good.
