After reading the person that said the trunk was hard to use's review I was skeptical. My daughter loves elephants and I figured heck if it is a bad model I will send it back. Anyway, we have about seven of these Folkmanis puppets, and I have to say that the elephant is one of my favorites.. The elephant is like the seal. It is plush and well padded, and the fabric is really really soft. What I like about the elephant is that it has as many controls on it as one would have expected the monkey to have (was a bit disappointed with monkey, but still a fun puppet). Basically you can control the feet, the ears, the mouth and the trunk of the elephant. You will come to the conclusion quickly that you have to pick your motions because you don't have enough fingers. Personally I don't have trouble operating the trunk, but if you have small hands you may have trouble if your other fingers are also trying to control the feet. A suggestion would be to control the ears and trunk if you have a small hand. All this advice is obviously for adults. my two and a half year old doesn't care about the controls so I think it all works out OK. Fantastic puppet.

This is adorable! My grandson thought he would be too old for it (he’s 9) but he loved it!!! The trunk moves and more!

I bought the elephant puppet to use when reading “an elephant nose best” In the book the elephant sneezes a lot and it makes it more fun when reading the book. As other reviewers said, it would take extra large hands to work the whole puppet at the same time. I just focus on the pull string inside the nose.

Loved the way you could make his trunk move with the little ring inside. My grandson loved him!

I have bought several other Folkmanis puppets for my young daughter this past year, and this has to be one of my (and her) favorites, especially for the price. Between the plush fabric and eyes, it almost looks lifelike, if elephants were that small. The best feature is the trunk. If you pull the ring inside with your finger you can raise and lower it. My daughter quickly put it on her arm and walked around giving it kisses (she's 15 mos old).

I love that you can control the trunk as well. Very nice quality and sturdy so far in the months we've had it.
