Moen Chrome Chateau Collection Replacement Escutcheon Pate for One-Handle Tub and Shower Faucets, 16090

Used it for a shower remodel on a 1983 Moen installation where I had to knock down all the old tile and the new install I needed a super tight seal, but I don't like escutheons that protrude from the wall. I couldn't find this cover anywhere else but I love the flush and flat appearance, it is so clean with a good sealant around it. The universal install kit from Danco is plastic with a chrome color and it makes that obnoxious bubble shape in your shower. Hell no. Nothing made me more furious than seeing plastic at Home Depot. THIS IS METAL! Now the old Escutcheon was some kind of steel but it wasn't chromed. I don't know what finish it was in 1983. So it looked really gross, deposits and minerals, just bad. I wanted that same look again but when I discovered a CHROME finish from this seller, I exploded with joy. I replaced it with this one and it looks so luxurious. It shines like a DIAMOND in that shower now. Fit like a glove. Just look at my photos. The thing is so bright I had to get a new diverter spout and a new shower head because I just loved throwing it on. I can also confirm it comes with both seals. It cleans with a wipe of a towel. This Moen plate is an exact fit for my 30+ year old Moen shower plate. The old plate cracked and was causing a leak in my first floor bathroom. The replacement plate easily fit into place and included the necessary foam bits to prevent leaks. Be careful when sliding the plate into place to ensure that the foam seals don't roll. You want to make a tight seal to prevent leaks. This plate does NOT include mounting screws. Save your old screws if you order this part.

These OEM parts are over the top expensive, but they are the same quality and grade as the original, not like many aftermarket parts that are made using either inferior methods or materials, or both. So, -1 Star for cost, but otherwise perfect form and fit.

This is a picture of my old Moen plate that I replaced. It was installed around 1980. I wanted to just have a nicer looking plate and this is it. The new plate I purchased has a rubber gasket all the way around the outside and fits really snug against the shower wall. It also has a rubber gasket around the tube opening which also made it fit really snug. At first I thought the opening was too small but I applied a little pressure and it slipped onto the tube perfectly. I highly recommend this chrome replacement it looks great! The only thing I did not care for was that there are symbols for Hot and Cold instead of the letters.

Perfect fit/replacement for old cover plate that was showing its age. Includes attached gasketing around most of the plates inside perimeter and around the knob. I added a thin bead of silicone caulk around the plate just to be sure. It's shiny and doesn't feel flimsy. Great product, easy install. Be sure to save the original screws, the replacements are overpriced.

I actually purchased this through Amazon Warehouse Deals for less than $15.00 (about 15% savings) for a used, very good (like new) condition. It was repackaged without any screws (not needed anyway). It appears new and is a better quality than other after-market replacements. I know this because I had an after-market (I think Danco) replacement escutcheon which is thinner metal and cracked a bit around the screws after about 5 years. It's now about 8 years old and I am replacing it with this original Moen escutcheon. I expect at least 10 (probably 20) years use from this one. Side Note: Since I have 2 showers with the same Moen fixtures, I also purchased a BrassCraft SK0230 Plumb Shop for Moen Tub and Shower Trim Kit, Chrome for the other bathroom to fully upgrade the shower trim. The BrassCraft replacement is a good deal, complete with all new parts including the escutcheon (with rubber seal), shower handle, drip/stop tube and 2 new screws. I will note that the BrassCraft metal escutcheon is also not as heavy-weight (firm/strong) metal as the original Moen escutcheon but, still a very decent after-market replacement.

Perfect for my moen from the 70’s-80’s (I don’t even know, I just know it’s old lol). I just made sure that the screw pattern matched with my old one. Easy to replace!

Mine was absolutely finished (big patch of Gorilla tape keeping any leaks out. It works well!) so I finally ordered a new one. Bolted right up and was cheaper than the local hardware stores, so that was a plus.

The replacement part fit perfectly. The quality was good with no chipping or flaking of the chrome finish reported by some. I had to buy replacement stainless steel screws that were a bit longer than the original from a local specialty hardware store and those two Moen branded screws were expensive ($9 for pk of 2). Install was easy.
