Darker sound
I usually use the Signiture 2.5, but I thought I would try one for a punt. The tone to my ear is better than the signiture, however you do have to work harder. I played it at band rehearsal last night, I thought I was playing out of time as reed didn’t respond in time. I know this is me as it does take more power to get it to sound. It’s one I am going to switch between. Maybe I’ll totally convert eventually ,it is always the same a trade off here. I rarely use cane now. Life is so short.

Quality reeds,no mither
I've had no issues with these reeds, other than price. But I do prefer the ease of synthetic reeds. I've not been playing long at all, and am getting a few bits together as I can to help further my progress. I thought I'd try 3s out,and test the difference for myself. I get it, but alas, I'm not quite there yet😚 The synthetic reeds, for me at least, cut out so much of the mither. No waiting for reeds to moisten up, basically it's plug n play🤗 I've heard the longevity is better too, which for a learner is one less thing to worry about. Overall I'm pleased with these reeds

Amazing item and more than worth its price in cane reeds
Would never go back to a cane reed now. Most salient point I think is the consistency. From the second you grab your sax to when you put it back in the case, the feel and tone stay exactly the same. No need to worry about wetting, drying, aging reeds, etc. In fact compared to the (admittedly low quality) cane reeds I've used, I find this one is more compliant and produces a much groovier sound when doing vibrato and bends.

... first but I think there fabulous and have a great tone. And after years of chipping
I was rather sceptical at first but I think there fabulous and have a great tone. And after years of chipping, splitting and trying to buy the right sized traditional reed, I've come to these and what a revelation!

Not work out for me
1.5 strength great, however find this 2 strength hard to play on. Takes immense power to get a note but also get a lot of hiss. No problem with stronger cane reeds. After researching could be incompatible with Yamaha 4c mouthpiece. Purchasing new mouthpiece soon so will try again. If it wasn't for the hiss would of carried on practicing with it to build stronger emboucher.

I'll never use reed again
A bit expensive, but on the plus side you never have to wet it and it can be left attached to the mouthpiece. Makes a great sound, which is important for a beginner like me and no squeaks, all the notes come out as clear as a bell. Excellent.

Works as advertised.

The Legere AS 3.5 synthetic reed shipped perfectly. It is exactly as pictured. I got this for my girl based on a referral from her band teacher. It is the wrong strength for her so we are saving it for later. We ordered the 3's from the same company, just in case the band teacher was wrong.
