What a great monitor. It's the best
Historically I have love-hate relationship with Apple products. I used Windows for major chunk of my life and I still do for office use. But for home use, Apple MacOS is the best. And if you are using Apple laptop or Mac Mini, then this Apple Studio monitor should be on top of your list. This is a glossy monitor. There are hardly any other brands which have glossy monitor. I don't know why people hate glossy. But I love them. Glossy monitor gives such a crisp and bright picture and text quality, that you will never buy a matte screen monitor. Apple has done a fantastic job. Previously I used LG 4K monitor and the brightness on that was weak. Apple Studio is not only bright but color gamut is awesome. Text, pictures, videos look so nice. I am not into gaming. So I don't know how response time will affect gaming performance. I have an external speaker setup with Creative X7 Amp. But I don't use it anymore. Because the speakers on Apple Studio monitor are more than adequate. I don't use in-built webcam. But it's there if anyone needs it. I have hooked it permanently to my Mac mini and I love this setup. In future, I will never buy any other monitor. I think 27 inches is a perfect size. But I wouldn't mind buying a 30 inch version in future. Price of this monitor is very high. But the features it provides justifies the price in long run. Quite honestly it's a well build monitor and value for money. Don't buy those cheap plasticky monitors which break down after a year or two. You will keep using this monitor for at least 8-10 years. One last point, Because this is 5K monitor, it scales really well with Apple products. Even with ipad Pro M4, which I rarely connect. But it shows full screen for ipad Pro M4. I would like to thank Apple for making a wonderful monitor.

This is exactly the monitor I needed.
The Apple Studio Display checked off a lot of boxes for me, so I bought it. Apparently, the main complaint most people have with this monitor is that it is too expensive. Well, itโs not cheap, but thereโs really not much else out there right now in the fully Mac-compatible world to compete with it, so yes, it is a premium price for an elite machine. Here are the monitor requirements that were important to me: -I wanted a high quality 5K monitor with a beautiful screen. Done, no complaints here. Itโs produces beautiful, sharp and bright images and text. -I wanted a fully Mac-compatible monitor. Done. The Studio Display reacts quickly and exactly like the screen on an iMac would; integrated as though it was built into the computer. Screen brightness and volume control are handled by the computerโs keyboard. The Studio Display has no buttons whatsoever. No problem with text font scaling. -I did NOT want a monitor that was on back-order; it needed to be available immediately. Amazon delivered the Studio Display within a couple of days as promised (and for $100 less than Appleโs pricing). -I wanted built-in speakers. The Studio Displayโs speakers are excellent. -I wanted a built-in microphone. Check. The mic is very good. -I wanted a built-in camera. Check, even though the images are fairly soft. -The monitor had to look good on my desk. The Studio Display is designed and crafted beautifully with high-end materials. My computer is an M2 Pro, Mac Mini.

Pricy, but a really great monitor
It was a stretch for me to pay the hefty price for this monitor. But it is a great monitor and I really like it. The color is great. The resolution is great. And the sound is great. The webcam works great too. So it does check of all the boxes. I just think it shouldn't have to cost as much as it does.

Stunning 5K display - incredible quality
The Apple Studio Display is absolutely stunning! The 5K Retina display has incredible picture quality and true-to-life colors. The tilt-adjustable stand is very smooth and the built-in camera and speakers are excellent. Worth every penny!

On a league of its own
This is an amazing monitor for creative work. 60hz its fine for gaming but this is no gaming monitor. color accuracy looks amazing. I could've been fooled if someone told me this was an OLED monitor. Looks amazing. speakers sound amazing Pros: amazing color INCREDIBLE SPEAKERS seamless integration with apple products work with windows laptops/PCs cons: no HDMI, just thunderbolt cable power cable cannot bet disconnected integrated camera sucks but its usable.

Exceptional picture and build quality
This monitor has exceptional picture and build quality. Not too much blooming given that it's an IPS display. Contrast is good, subjectively seems better than the specs would have you believe. Probably because the SDR brightness is so impressive. Colors really pop. Pixel density is top-notch. Speakers also pack quite a punch for being integrated, and having a microphone and camera built-in is nice. Only downside is price.

Similar to a 27" iMac
I have this hooked up to a 2017 27" iMac with a 5K. The iMac display is excellent and the 2023 Apple Studio 5K Display is even better in that it is brighter. If you are a Mac user and you wonder if a 5K display is worth the extra cost, the answer is a resounding yes. Macs are made to work best with a certain DPI (dots per inch density) and 4K does not cut it on a larger screen. We can only hope that 5K displays will come down in price. I had used a LG 27UK850-W 27" 4K UHD IPS Monitor with HDR10 with USB Type-C connection as my second monitor and it could not hold a candle to the 27" iMac. Moving back and forth between the two was jarring as the DPI was so different and the colors / contrast was not as vibrant. Now I have two identical displays and it is seamless. I did not intend to purchase the Studio Display now. My plan is to purchase a M2 Pro MacMini in the fall when discounts are offered. But Amazon put this Studio Display on sale and I could not pass it up. When I retire the iMac, I will miss having two nearly identical 5K displays. Others complain about the lack of height adjustment which is a real issue. But if you use an iMac, the situation is similar, so I am used to it. I deducted a star due to two issues: * "Six-speaker sound system with Spatial Audio for an unbelievable listening experience"? The built in sound is lousy. The sound quality is about on par with a newer iPad and my 2017 iMac. No bass or high end. Don't expect to throwout your computer speakers. My Altec Lansing speakers and sub are far superior. I wish I could pair them with a sub, but that does not seem to be possible. * As others have said, the 1 M Thunderbolt connector is just too short. I have this monitor setup to the left of my iMac and it barely reaches. Note that you do not have to get a Apple branded Thunderbolt connector to replace it, but insure that it can carry 100 watts. Get a name brand, like OWC, Anker, etc.

Apple Studio Monitor-Expensive But Worth It.
Typical Apple plug and play. I had a 15 year old iMac (I had installed a solid state hard drive) and didn't want to sacrifice any screen area and the new iMac screen was smaller. I went with a mini mac and the studio monitor to keep the same screen area. The new monitor was worth the expense. The biggest part of the upgrade was cleaning my desk off to make room for a new battery back up. I have a Bose computer sub and speaker system and learned that I couldn't hook up the studio monitor speakers and the Bose together. The studio monitor speakers were really decent quality but I had to stick with the Bose system. I obviously don't change systems unless I have to and this was not a big deal to hook up a few wires.
