Samsonite Solyte DLX Softside Expandable Luggage with Spinning Reels

Samsonite never failed me! I always bought Samsonite hard shell and soft shell and they last a lifetime (I also like Delsey) - I bought this new suitcase bc I prefer flat shapes to those that have bulgy ones. In addition when traveling internationally you are better off with a 24 or 25 because then you are not tempted to over stuff it since you are only allowed 50 lb (23 KG) You should also consider buying a scale it will be a lifesaver. The price does not do justice to this suitcase (not complaining!) it is so well made - it certainly matches TravelPro quality. My biggest surprise was that Amazon shipped this within 24 hours I was floored! And it is incredibly light which will give me the opportunity to add 5 lbs with stuff (boy do we love adding stuff) - all in all, this suitcase can take some beating and it will nicely match my Samsonite Silhouette 2 light spinner as a carry on - another great international friend!

I am very happy with this entire order. I chose this particular piece because of the size and that its lightweight, but mainly because its Samsonite. I expect quality and durability from Samsonite and they have not let me down. I will definately get more peices in this line. And, to top it off, I received the luggage just 2 days after I placed the order! This was an excellent purchase!

This bag is lightweight and holds a lot. It's easy to spot in the luggage area. It's very well made. Sometimes the handle isn't long enough for me when I need to move it on two wheels, such as getting to the train station. It's great for the airport, though.

Nice large size luggage. Darker than color in the picture, but still pretty. Interested to see how long these wheels hold up since they are much different than my last bag. 4 stars because it came pretty beat up from the company. I understand luggage gets tossed around when traveling, but at least let it arrive to my house without all the scuffs and scrapes, it was brand new!!! Also note for any latex allergy people like myself, the handles on the top, side, and the pull handle are all rubberized. Not sure if I missed that in the item description or if it just wasn't listed, but just FYI (I will be wrapping mine in fabric).

This suitcase is great. It is well constructed, very spacious and seems, all around of an excellent quality -- basically, the quality of the suitcase is the only reason I have raised this to a 2 star review. Sadly, the same cannot be said of the seller. I had ordered 2 of these suitcases based upon an assumption that they would fall, in size, between our carryon luggage and a larger case we check. Upon receipt, I found that these cases were very close to the size of the checked bag we already had. Not needing 3 bags that size, I sought return of one of the 2 new bags. I timely received an RMA from the seller with a notification that I would receive a "Prepaid Return Mailing Label" within 2 days. A couple days later, I received not a prepaid shipping label but an unpaid return shipping label along with a note that I could request a "discounted shipping label" from the seller, but also noting that the cost of return shipping would be offset against my refund. When I raised with the seller the fact that their listing said that I could return an item in original condition for a full refund, they responded with a second shipping label which, if used, will reduce my refund by $11.79. Bottom line is that I will not be receiving a full refund, even though the item I'm returning is unopened and in its original packaging, rather, I will receive approximately 90% of the purchase price back. In order to get the item out of my living room, I will use the second shipping label; however, in the future, I will, and I urge you to avoid purchasing anything through Portmantos. It's worth a couple extra bucks to deal with a seller who stands by their words.
