Awesome vacuum cleaner overall!
I owned an electrolux canister vacuum for years and loved it. I had been searching for a similar replacement for a while (unfortunately, electrolux had discontinued manufacturing their canister vacuums years ago.) I had tried another cheaper one on Amazon and was not pleased with the quality. So i decided to give this Miele one a try, based on the similarity to my former electrolux, and the great reviews. So far, so good! I pretty much love everything about it... well almost! PROS: The performance/powerful suction, the accessories and how they store inside the vacuum, the maneuverability (rolls easily in any direction), and the retractable cord. Also, the options for suction are great(hardwood/ carpet or rugs; etc); the 2 main heads (one that's extra wide great on hard floors, the smaller one awesome for my rugs and my stairs), and the nice large bags! Oh and great for those with allergies as it comes with great filters, and options to upgrade them as well. CONS: The outer shell casing seems like cheap plastic, and the lid that pops open to store the accessories feels like it could snap off easily at the hinge. Bag refills are a bit pricey, and buying generic voids the warranty. The lack of color options ( it would be awesome if you could have a few choices of color to pick between). Lastly, the noise level. This Miele vacuum is quite a bit louder than my former electrolux, even in the quietest setting.

Miele C2
Review of the Miele C2. But first...backstory. I (still) have a Shark Rocket. Used this for 3 years in my home with no pets, just two humans. Mostly tile floors, five small area rugs in the entire house. Using the Shark is back breaking work, I'm exhausted using this cumbersome beast and I have to wear noise cancelling headgear because the noise is ear shattering. I thought at the time, hey, it's a vacuum, it's normal and it's cleaning my home. But it can't get under the beds, sofa and the rest of the furniture. So I purchased the Roomba i3. Great for getting under all the before mentioned areas, but after having to reboot it 4 plus times and then on the phone with the company why this vacuum will not upload the finished map it just cleaned and being non-responsive and not being able to connect, the iRobot staff reset it to factory settings and it still was non-responsive. So it got boxed and shipped back to it's maker. So the research began and I got the Meile C2. Yes, I read the manual. Put it together pronto after a quick orientation and began cleaning. The floor brush (for tile and hardwood, which I will use mostly) is almost as wide as a lawnmower. Just kidding. But it's super wide at 16" across and the other rug/tile brush is 11+ inches wide. It's so QUIET on the highest setting compared to my Shark. The wheels on the canister is a dream because it glides across the tile quietly, no tugging, no hauling. This Miele C2 is a workhorse! No upper body workout like the shark, cleaning was effortless. The floor brush pivots and cleaning under the beds, furniture and any small space is a breeze. It's actually fun! All the rugs were vacuumed using the variable suction dial. Brilliant! I vacuumed the house in record time without being out of breath and my back muscles screaming. I stood in the last room wondering what I missed because I was done so quickly. I love this thing! No really, you have 90 days to test this extraordinary vacuum, take it for a spin. You won't regret it.

Excellent for hard flooring and quieter than most other vacuums
Update after almost a year of use: this is the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. I can’t believe how much I spent on cheap brands that don’t last. It’s quiet, the hose is lightweight and swivels as well as lays flat to get under furniture, easy to tug the canister behind, and the bag holds a huge amount of dog/cat hair and rarely needs to be changed (sometimes I just change it as it seems like it’s been too long). I wasn’t sure if I would like the extra cost of bags but it’s so worth it. No dust escapes and with the hepa filter it’s very clean running and odor free. The bag is to change and totally mess free. It is perfect for hard surface flooring. I would definitely use authentic Miele bags with an off brand there was a strange clunking sound maybe it did not fit quite right. I've been using this new vacuum for one week and I love it! It is exactly what I've been searching for since my old Dyson cannister vacuum died. These are the things I love about it: 1) easy to manuever and the actual act of vacuuming is so much easier because you are only pushing the floor attachment and the hollow tube around not the entire motor as with an corded or cordless upright. Swivels easily and really lightweight. 2) the the tube is extendable so it is easy to use even if you are tall. 3) the attachments to clean different surfaces are onboard and accessible even without turning the vacuum off. You can combine dusting and vacuuming if you like. 4) the cord is long enough and the auto-wind into the vacuum works smoothly. 5) if you swivel the floor head sideways you can lay the tube all the way to the ground to vacuum completly under the bed without having to get down on the floor or bend all the way down. It has nice low clearance. 6) It's quieter than most vacuums and my noise canecelling headphones did not even activate. 7) this was an adjustment going back to a bagless vacuum as it is nice to avoid that extra cost, but it just feels so much cleaner. There is no dust or funny smell from the vent on the vacuum (using a HEPA filter) and even with a ton of dog hair the bag still appears to be far from needing to be changed. Time will tell, but I absolutely do not miss dumping the bagless cannister and having all the dirt/dust/dog hair flying in my face. If you have allergies you will love this feature. I don't think I will ever go back to bagless. 8) the hose attaches to the base in two ways depending on whether you are storing your vacuum standing upright or flat on the floor. Really nice feature not to have the hose just laying there. 9) the attachment for hard floors is really WIDE - you cover more floor area with each sweep which is saving me more time than I expected. 10) I have all hard flooring and this vacuum works great for that. I would not want to use this vacuum if I had alot of area rugs or any wall to wall carpeting. I really don't think it would as easy to use in that instance. Highly recommend!

Reliable, compact, and built to last
I’ve used several vacuum brands over the years, including Dyson, but I always come back to Miele. This model is compact, powerful, and easy to maneuver. It works beautifully on both hardwood floors and area rugs, and transitions between surfaces with no frustration. The bag is simple to change and seals tightly, which keeps dust contained. Suction is strong and consistent. It feels engineered for performance without overcomplication. This is an investment, but one that earns its place over time. The build quality is exceptional, and I’ve found it to be far more durable and effective than other high-profile brands I’ve tried. If you’re looking for something quiet, efficient, and thoughtfully made — this is the vacuum I recommend.

Very good vacuum cleaner
UPDATE: We recently purchased an after-market powered carpet brush for the Miele C2 vacuum and it definitely is working much better on our carpets. It pretty much picks up everything from the carpet on one pass, now; none of the repeated re-doing a section as before. I would adjust the unit's score to something like a 4.5 out of 5.0 with the powered carpet head. I definitely recommend you purchasing a powered head if you have carpets otherwise you will be disappointed. The unit is terrific on hard surface floors but without a powered carpet head is really struggles on carpets/rugs. PS. The unit is extremely quiet. We have a dog that would always get freaked out when we vacuumed with our old system, the noise totally scared the dog. With the Miele, the dog doesn't even flinch at the sound. If you have noise sensitive pets, this unit will make your and their lives much easier. We have had the Miele C2 vacuum cleaner for just over a month and overall it has been a positive experience. It is quiet yet powerful and easy to move. It is terrific on hard surfaces such as hardwood floors, tile and vinyl plank. The only downside is that the enclosed carpet brush is mediocre at best. I wasn't expecting much since the head isn't powered, as a result I really have to work at picking up items from the carpet, going over a section 2-3 times before everything is picked up. I like the way the tools store on board the unit. The bags are on the small size and with three bigs dogs that shed constantly they fill pretty quickly. Overall, a very good unit if you have lots of hard surfaces, not so much on carpets.

Best vacuum I have everyday owned.
I bought this vacuum 18 months ago. I wanted to wait to review it to see how it held up. It does not disappoint. Over the years, I have owned a Dyson and at least four Sharks. While they were very good vacuums, this Miele out performs all of them. I have a golden retriever and a velvet couch. The Miele with hand attachment picks up the hair on the first swipe. These are the features I love: 1. It is easy to move around and it doesn't tip going around corners.2. It is so easy to store . It has attachments on the side that holds the wand so you don't have to prop it against something. 3. I have hardwood floors with area rugs. It is easy to switch it over to accommodate both. 4. The variable suction 5. The tool storage build right in it, so the tools are right there when you need them. No more hauling a bag of tools around or digging in the closet to find them. 6. The ease of tossing a used bag in the trash. No more mess emptying bagless vacuums. It is convenient when you order more bags new filters are included.7. The long hose makes vacuuming stairs so easy. The only minor complaint I have is the electric cord is shorter than the other vacuums I have owned. Overall I love it and am glad I made the investment.

3rd Time is a Charm!
I previously owned two other Miele canister vacuum cleaners. The first one I purchased about 20+ years ago, but I traded it in for a newer model, because the original one was too heavy. I don’t remember what year I traded it. The second one was lighter weight, but I did not like that the tools weren’t stored in the canister itself. It was too cumbersome to have them attached to the wand, and some of the attachments would fall off. I also didn’t like the fact that the air inlet valve kept opening up as I vacuumed because of the way it was positioned on the handle. The other thing that bothered me was that the hose wasn’t flexible enough. It would crimp up, and I somehow found myself stepping on it. I had a combination of hardwood, linoleum, and wall-to-wall carpet in my other house, and I wasn’t that happy with the floor-heads that came with it. I dislike rotating brush heads in general, because of the way hair wraps around them. However, I just now received the Miele Complete C2 Hardwood canister vacuum, and I immediately opened the box and started using it. I am AMAZED! All the design problems with the previous models have been resolved. It is a pleasure to use, and I hate vacuuming. The best thing about it is the XL swivel floor-head that was designed especially for hard surfaces. It’s probably about 16” wide, reducing the amount of swipes it takes to clean the floors. It swivels effortlessly around corners, gets into tight spots, and has a low enough clearance to go under those spring doorstops that are attached to the walls. The house I’m in now has only ceramic tile and LVP, no carpeting. The house is over 2,300 square feet, so it’s a considerable amount of floor to cover, and this vacuum will go a long way to helping me keep things clean. The one gripe I have about this new Miele is that the upholstery brush is longer made with horse hair bristles; they’re now plastic. It also seems like the plastic isn’t quite as thick on the canister lid as my previous models. I could also use an extra foot of cord. Here’s what I like about all the Miele vacuum cleaners I’ve had: - graduated settings for lampshades, low-pile area rugs, and hard surfaces - quiet operation - retractable cord - filtration system means no unpleasant odors - attractive design
