Excellent Light Bulb Camera
I bought a 2 pack of the LaView light bulb cameras recently and set them up immediately on arrival. The first camera was quick and easy to set up and I had it working in 10 minutes. The second camera was dead on arrival so rather than send them both back to Amazon since one worked perfectly I went on the app and sent a message to Laview customer service. The next day I had a message from Ariel and she was just great about getting me a replacement. Plus they sent another indoor camera for my trouble. Bottom line is that Laview stood behind their products without wavering. I also must say that Iโm just amazed at how well these light bulb cameras work. The picture quality is fantastic and they alert and record with any motion. Theyโll even track a moving object once picked up which again is unbelievable since I paid only paid just over $60 for the pair. They do a better job than my rich brother in lawโs wired camera system that he paid thousands for. The only issue I had was that the motion sensing was so powerful that it was picking up passing cars on the road in front of my house which is over 100 feet away from the camera. I solved this by changing the sensitivity level to low which stopped the recording of every car going down my road. I still pickup armadillos , rabbits, raccoons and possums if they get within 50 feet or do of the camera but Iโm ok with that as I enjoy the nature show. I bought three more so with 5 of these I monitor my entire 1 acre yard and all 4 sides of my house. I did have to add a Wi-Fi satellite to my NETGEAR router to extend the range of my Wi-Fi since some of the cameras are mounted 50 feet from my house. At this low price everyone should try these. If they last a few years itโll be the most cost effective camera system Iโve ever had.

Hard to beat for a bulb camera
I recently purchased the LaView 4MP Bulb Security Camera (2-pack) and I have to say, Iโve been impressed. The 355-degree view combined with 360-degree swivel provides all the flexibility I need, allowing me to monitor large areas of both the front and back yard. The security camera is wireless, and simply screws into an existing standard light fixture, making it super easy to install and use. It does require you to leave the light fixture turned on to provide continuous power to the camera, but that just makes sense and it doesnโt seem to use much electricity. Just note, you may need a socket extender if the light fixture covers any part of the camera lens as that will negatively impact the infrared night vision, even if itโs just clear glass. But that was not a big deal as extenders can be purchases from Amazon at a reasonable price. One of the things that impressed me the most is the wide angle and clarity of the 4MP camera. It provides impressive full-color images during the day and at night, it can intelligently (or you can manually) switch between infrared or starlight color mode which makes it almost look like itโs still daytime outdoors. One quick thought on this point: For a bulb camera, donโt expect to get iPhone quality images; thatโs not the purpose of this product. As a security camera, the goal is to capture the largest area possible with enough detail to be aware of what is taking place in your surroundings and this product delivers that in spades. The motion detection feature is well implemented. The sensitivity can be set to the appropriate level to prevent false positives or constant alerts in high traffic areas, and the human movement detection setting is fairly accurate and further helps cut down on false alarms. Itโs fun watching this little camera track a person such as a delivery driver as they walk up to the front door and drop off a package. The camera actually rotates and pivots to keep the moving target in view. Thatโs a very nice feature to have. The camera can be set to constantly record or only record on a detection event. If you don't want to pay for cloud storage to store these videos and images, you will need to purchase a micro-sd card to install in the camera as local storage. Fortunately, LaView provides a reasonably priced bundle that includes these cards pre-formatted. The camera contains an led light ring that lights up any moving targets at night when motion is detected according to the users desired settings. The light can also be manually switched on from the phone app. It is adequately bright for the purpose of a security camera, but if you are intending to use this product in a light fixture that you depend on frequently, I would recommend against it as it will not be as useful as a replacement for a standard light bulb. As far as durability goes, the camera seems well-built and made of quality plastics. Iโm not sure how long it would hold up if directly exposed to the elements with no cover above it as provided by most outdoor light fixtures on porches and balconies. Time will tell how well it holds up outside in general, but I hope it does since Iโve come to really like this product. I was able to set up the camera in no time at all using the included instructions, and the app for the camera is available on both Android and iOS. It is intuitive and very well designed, providing all the functionality I need from a security camera in this price range. I was thrilled to find that the app can send push notifications to the Apple watch. There are more features in this product that I havenโt covered in this review, but if what Iโve already mentioned isnโt enough to persuade you to give this product a try, then Iโm not sure you really need a bulb camera. Overall, I cannot recommend this product enough.

Easy to use and set up
I really like these bulb cameras, theyโre fairly easy to set up and the picture on them is great too. I love the control and ease of usage. They are both outside and im hoping the sun wont be too much on them. The memory card on one seems to get too hot and will stop working, im really not sure if that has something to do with it or if its just a faulty card but either way im really glad i got the LaView light bulb cameras and it was an amazing deal!!

Newer App and firmware are really bad. 5 stars a few months ago to one star
Update 9/22/23 : The last camera I have left did get the "ONVIF" function added (took a couple of months to happen and I thank CRS for doing it). Haven't tried using it as now I lost the the function to turn the IR off at night with the "Starlight" function they removed. It was useful to keep the bugs from getting atracted to it at night. It seems to be the trend to all of the cameras. The Human AI / Motion seems to have gotten worst along with spotty to no motion notifications since they updated the Google App although there are messages when you look at the app. Useless if there no notification when there is an alert at the moment it happens. Just seems to be getting worst the more they try to improve it. Was very happy with these initially when I bought them several months ago. Can not recomend these unless you just need to casually check in on your pets indoors. The updated Google app is now knocking offline about few hours of monitoring and has to be restarted. The older app was stable and never reset itself. Lots of people are complaining about it. Seems like all the other brands moved to a newer interface app which do the same thing, but much worse than this brand. I had initially bought 2 Black L2 cameras separately and they both had all the functionality to customize the way you wanted to. I got the Black version as it did not have the plastic lense over the IR and/lighting, which caused some bluring/cloudy durning the evening. Now they both look the same! and they charge you more for it. Why I don't know. Update 9/22/2023: I did get the "Activity Area" function back after holding the "Reset button" till I heard a tone and reinitiallized the camera. I had 3 cameras at firt, but the other 2 crapped out after losing power and resetting it too many time as per request from support. Bought other pair hoping it was just a bad batch to no avail. Ended up returning those also. The Black ones shows up as the White L2 cameras now when initialized! They also don't have the "Active Area" function, which causes a bunch of false motion activity notifications. When CRS was asked about it, I was told that is the way they are now. Although customer support was proactive, thier new hardware/software updates just ruined a really good camera. Lot of the recent reviews reflect these sentiments. I would think twice before purchasing this item.

OK Camera
Definitely a fan of this Camera. I would recommend. I would buy more if I had more places to put them. The video is clear and the motion catches from across the street. That's the good. Now for the bad. I purchased "Constant recording" and it did not. Customer service sucks. They just respond with pre written responses. It should be recording all the time as that is what I was paying for. I even checked my internet and upped my package. Nope. I just have the standard event recording now that just records the event. However, that doesn't record either. It will record me walking out the house and then the recording just stops and I disappear. That's it. No other footage. The police saw I had cameras and came and asked me for the footage. The camera was facing in the direction of where the robbery happened (in front of my neighbors house) but did not record anything. Did not record the robbery or the guy running past the front of my house. My front door camera did not catch it or the side door camera as he ran across my driveway. My MIL will leave at night and there would ne no record that she left except that her car is gone. No footage and she walked right in front of the camera. It also picks and chooses what it wants to record or not. So I now pay 3 bucks a month for both cameras. I couldn't get a refund for those months I was paying 30 bucks a month for constant recording. I attached a video from today. You will see the footage just skip or whatever and I am gone. It is supposed to record that whole time as an event recording but as it shows I just disappear. My router is in between both cameras about the same distance away.

Great value
These are much better than the previous generation - very easy to configure the wifi connection. The only thing missing is the ability to keep the lights switched off at night time.

Fixed and Better Than Ever!
Edit: Got the replacement! It arrived super quickly. One of the two I got had a fault, but Laview went out of their way to contact me, and remind me that their products were covered by warranty. Their customer service is above and beyond to help. I'm honestly very impressed with it so far. I'm very surprised by the quality considering the price. Being able to save everything onto an SD card is so much easier than having to save it onto my phone or risk it getting lost in the cloud. My blink camera saved me from eviction at my last apartment (the landlord was an absolute creep), but I had to waste so much space saving the videos onto my phone. These cameras are so much easier, and versatile. The image quality is the same if not better than my Blink camera, and it has motion tracking. They turn and look at you if you turn it on! It's kinda cute. The set up is easy, and includes little videos to help guide you. It's all very well done, and really helps if you are new to setting one of these up. I definitely recommend these! ~~~~ I'm really conflicted about these. The one that works is wonderful. I absolutely love it. It's got a lot of options making it very versatile and I'm so happy to find something that doesn't need an additional subscription to work. They're very sensitive to movement which is great. I appreciate that you can set them to only light up when they spot something. The set up was simple, and probably the easiest of the three brands I've used so far. These would have been a five star, hands down, if one of them hadn't died a few months after I got it. I have one in my car port which is sheltered from the elements, and the other on my front porch in a semi-enclosed light fixture. The one on the porch is protected by the fixture and overhang. It was working properly until a rather fierce storm swept through. These claimed to be safe for outdoor use, but this died immediately after the first big storm hit. It was relatively well protected form direct water exposure, so I'm extremely disappointed at how susceptible it is to moisture damage. I'm going to have to find something similar that won't die from a little moisture. EDIT: Completely forgot to check for warranty. Apparently these are protected under a year long warranty. The seller got in contact with me and is working with me to set up a replacement. It sounds like perhaps the one that broke was simply faulty. These are water proof, except the bulb connecting part. I will update again later.

Great Camera
I am very impressed this camera. The picture is crystal clear. Installation 10/10. Connect to Alexa 10/10. It really is a walk through. Instructions clear and concise. Connecting to Alexa is a simple as can be. You won't go wrong with this camera and as I only needed one and it came in pair I now have one for a back up. Now the test will be to see how it lasts and the winter. One little caveat to my review is I wish it had a slide bar for motion detection.

Don't buy this camera.
The cameras are useless now, that the app hasn't been supported for MONTHS. I have emailed and left reviews on the app for Google play. Nothing has been resolved. Don't waste your money. It was great, when the app worked but its been months that the developer knows of this issue, and nothing has came of it. Would not recommend this to anyone getting it, even if they do fix the app. They clearly don't care to fix the app, more than the fact that they just want to get paid.
