Puts TQI receiver to shame.
This receiver has a more features at cheaper price than Traxxas tqi receiver has. I have gained independent control of both axles and maintained cruise control. The only downside is that the Radiolink transmitter goes through AA batteries like water.

It works but head tracking setup was a pain.
Other than a brief mention of which port to use, instructions in the manual for setting up head tracking are basically nonexistent. There's videos on YouTube that suggest this feature is plug and play, which for FatShark goggles, it was not. I did finally figure it out though. The FatShark head tracking cable I use with all my other transmitters (Spektrum, Jumper and RadioMaster) uses the standard ground wire configuration for the 3.5mm plug. The RadioLink RC8X does not (see photo). Problem solved by making a new cable. Next was properly configuring the transmitter channels used for pan & tilt. Again, the info I found on YouTube indicated this was a plug and play thing but it was not. You must set the channels (in my case that was 5 & 6) to NULL (see photo). Everything works as it should now so I'm giving the end product a 5 star.

The go to receiver
This is my absolute new favorite receiver. The range on these is phenomenal and I can keep control of my speed running cars without an issue. The built in gyro works great and is very responsive. It isn't quite as smooth as AVC but it still works very effectively. The dual antenna really boost range but you have to be sure to mount them in correct 90° orientation. 8 channels so you can connect any servo, winch or accessory you need.
