I’ve been using the Ulanzi SC-02 Camera Suction Cup Mount for rolling shots around Atlanta, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well this thing performs. I mounted a Canon R5 DSLR to the rear window of my truck and drove through a variety of locations, including highway speeds up to 75 mph, with zero issues. No slipping, no vibration problems, no heart-stopping moments. The suction stayed locked in the entire time, and the mount felt secure even while driving over uneven roads. For lighter lenses, this mount is absolutely solid and confidence-inspiring. I would not hesitate to use it again for exterior vehicle shots. The build quality feels premium, the locking mechanism is strong, and setup is quick and straightforward. That said, I do want to be transparent. While I fully trust this mount with a lightweight lens, I’d personally be more cautious with larger or heavier lenses. For extra peace of mind, I’d love to see Ulanzi offer a dual suction cup version, or I’d recommend pairing this with a secondary tether or a second suction mount to help distribute the weight if you’re running heavier glass. Overall, this mount exceeded my expectations. The fact that I trusted an extremely expensive camera on the outside of my vehicle at highway speed says everything. If you’re a filmmaker, content creator, or photographer looking for dynamic driving shots, this mount absolutely delivers. Highly recommended.

Great mount! I used it for the very first time on the windshield of my organization's medical helicopter to record our CEO's first helicopter flight and the mount held steady all the way through a one-hour flight. I used it with a DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro. We hit a little wind turbulence, and I had concerns about the helicopter's vibrations sending this mount crashing, but it held perfectly. I own an older GoPro suction mount with a pump and I actually think may be slightly better.

Suction cup seems pretty dang strong from initial review. I was skeptical, since I shoot with a chunky Z8 mostly, and sometimes the Lumix S5iix you see pictured, neither of which are the smallest cams. SUCTION: This thing held the caged S5iix with 24-105 f/4 and PM VND upside down from my sunroof for over 100 miles from Austin to San Antonio and didn't budge once, even when reaching back to hit record or change settings. I also stuck it to the passenger side window and passenger rear window for about 20 miles each, never fell off, didn't seem to budge at all. You can grab the arm and try to flex it off, but all I could see was the window flexing, seemed strong, maybe possible to break the window if you tried hard enough. Pump it to the red indicator on the button, shake it, and you'll feel it immediately. Keep the edges of the cup clean and stored facing up so they aren't resting against anything and the cup should last awhile. ARTICULATING ARM: So far, the articulating arm is fantastic. It hasn't show to have any sag, and seems to be one of the most sturdy and easy to adjust arms I have, it's slightly baffling to be honest. Time will tell if the arm will start to get little memory spots from being clamped repeatedly but again, so far, I'd love to get my hands on more of the arms themselves. Storing the arm loosened will help prevent little catches. OVERALL: Seems sturdy and very usable for most vlog style setups, interior b-roll, and I'd for sure put an action cam on this and throw it outside the car without hesitation. Materials are really nice, the suction cup seems sturdy and well built with mounting points on all angles so you can screw in a tether for extra safety, and the arm adjusts beautifully. I slapped a SmallRig Arca Swiss plate on the arm for easy mounting and discounting. The only thing I see so far that I'm still curious about, is the longevity of the pump itself, but you can't tell that without more time/use. So far, I'll be using this far more, and would absolutrly recommend it. If anything changes, I'll update this review.

Update: The suction would not stick longer than 10 minutes even on glass surfaces. There's an internal leak allowing air to enter somehow. I'm returning it and getting a different mount. unfortunately I can't risk trusting another replacement if these have quality issues. Original comments: High quality gear. It doesn't hold suction for long periods of time. Of you want this as a phone mount like I did you have to pump the suction cup up every day even multiple times per day because it starts to release over time. Other suction cups are able to hold almost indefinitely. This one holds for barely a few hours in warmer weather. Every time I get in my vehicle I have to pump up the suction cup to keep it from falling off. If you forget it will be laying on the floor. A suction cup mount would have great holding suction.... You would think.

So, I read the (bad) reviews and was a little worried about some of them saying the pump doesn't hold for very long. This kind of ended up being true for me. Overall, the suction pump works, but after 10 - 30 minutes, the red line starts creeping out. Even though it starts creeping out, the suction is still holding for the most part. One thing that helped with lengthening the time is to pull out the plastic pump and pack more silicone grease at the end. Otherwise the overall quality is okay. The camera mount pieces are metal and very sturdy. The only weak point is the pump portion being made of plastic. For the price, it's not bad if you just need to be able to mount something for no more than a few hours at a time.

Works really well. I use it with my Insta 360 X on my car. And it sticks really well to the surface. Easy to use.

Das Teil löst sich nach 2-3 Tagen vom Sockel, im stehenden Fahrzeug. Mit Camera liegt es schon nach einem Tag vor der Windschutzscheibe. Undichtes System? Auch neue Sockelplatte half nicht. Keine Kaufempfehlung…. Konnte den Halter nur verwenden weil ich ihn auf dem Armaturenbrett verschraubt habe.

There are a lot of choices for camera mounts to choose from. I have a $600 camera that I want to believe will be securely held in place by the mount I purchase. Having experienced Ulanzi quality from a previous purchase, I chose this mount. I have not had it outdoors yet, but I did stick it to a vertical glass door and it was very difficult to remove. I now have confidence that it will perform outdoors as intended. The attention to detail is in this mount. I doubt that I will be using the carry bag that they provide, as useful as it may be. Instead, I will be storing my mount in the shock proof box that it comes in, as each part has a soft styrofoam cut-out for it. Smart! Quality..
