Cable Matters USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, USB to Ethernet Adapter 10/100/1000Mbps, Plug & Play for Windows, macOS & ChromeOS, Wake-on-LAN, Black (Not for Smart TV/Android)

Purchased for my 2020 Sony KD-55A85 OLED and I can confirm this adapter works USB 3.0 port. Tested on my pc and it maxes out a gigabit internet connection, on the television I get about 700/700 presumably due to CPU in the tv not being strong enough to handle a gigabit connection but that's not the fault of the adapter.

Bought this to use with a Sony A80L TV after a couple of other brands didn't work. Can confirm this works perfectly with this model of TV and enables a stable gigabit connection.

I bought this item in an attempt to increase the speed of connection into my smart TV. Unfortunately it did not work. I don't see any failure being attributed to the product or company at all it was a risk I was willing to take. It is most likely a TV USB issue or perhaps a driver one. However I have now used the product to connect my laptop to my router if I need a reliable fast connection. The product feels robust. It does not feel like it is ready to fall apart. Very simple to use and have seen the speed increase as it states with listing. I have a 900mb/s connection and with USB 3.0, running a speedtest I obtained 938 mb/s I would recommend this product for laptops and for games consoles. For the price, it is worth trying if you want to try on smart TV but like me be prepared for it not to work.

I bought this for my Sony 48 A90K OLED TV to upgrade from the 100mbps onboard ethernet port. I can confirm that this cable matters USB 3.O gigabit adapter works perfectly with the Sony A90K and does give gigabit speed if your broadband supports it. Just ensure that you disable wi-fi in the settings so that auto play works to enable the adapter. To take advantage of upto gigabit speed you need to connect the to the usb 3.0 port on the TV. For Sony a90k owners the usb 3.0 port is located on the bottom next to HDMI 2 and labelled for HDD. If you connect to a USB 2.0 port, the adapter will still work, but the maximum speed will drop from around 940mbps to around 400mbps due to usb 2.0 limitations. Being able to use more broadband speed on my TV has made 4k content noticeably more stable and so far I haven't had the resolution drop lower like it used to when using the in-built 100mbps port, and yes I'm aware that Netflix 4k barely goes over 20mbps so 100 should be easily enough. But I can confirm that in my case, that 4k streaming is more stable. Overall, if you're looking for a USB 3.0 to gigabit LAN adapter for a Sony A90K, this is the perfect choice. The price is great, the build quality is top notch, plus it just works :)

Worked straight out of the box. Wanted to boost the native speeds on my TV and it did just that. Significantly. Yes you wont get the full whack gigabit down speed but its a massive improvement from the original speed you are getting from a wired connection. I suppose this will help with 4k viewing and. Streaming shouldn’t stutter or lagg now. Good little purchase.

This is a good product. It's cheap, plug n' play and works as advertised, such as on a PC/Laptop. However, for my own personal use case, it was a waste of money. Why? I tried it on my 2017 Sony Bravia KD-43XE8077 smart television which has a USB 3.0 port (NB: USB 3.0 is required for 1Gb speeds), however, like all smart TV's, it only has 10/100 ethernet. Potentially then, this USB 3.0 to ethernet adapter was an ideal solution to get 1Gb ethernet on my TV. To my disappointment, it didn't work, although the LED lights turned on and flashed. NB: Activating 'developer mode' in the television's settings and activating USB to ethernet didn't work either. After much research on forums, it turns out my television is Android 9.0 based but if you have a Sony TV, it must be at least Android 10 based for this ethernet adapter- which means a Sony TV from 2021 onwards. Lesson learned.

I bought this adapter having seen the video by HDTVTest's Vincent Teo (on Youtube - thanks Vincent!) showing how this method works. Or can work depending on the TV manufacturer and model. I'm delighted to find it works perfectly on my new Panasonic Z95B OLED (connected to the "USB 2" input port which is USB version 3.0). I'm now getting a download speed close to my current (full fibre) package maximum of 300 Mbps. Happy days!

My Tcl 85 c855k was only getting 97 megs which wasnt enuff to stream 8k... only had it a day but now getting between 444megs and 500megs im im one 1 gig with virgin but thats wired to my back room so had to use a 50 meter cat cable as i hate using wifi on the tv eventho they gave us a booster i would still be ethernet connected as it just rules out the wifi problem on it.. anyways hope this helps someone.... oh also let me add the side port on the tv is the one giving me them speeds the one on the back is still giving me 97 meg with the adapter in.. which is weird thought it would be other way around just means i have to now see a wire but looking for a right angle usb 3.0 thing so i dont see it sticking out purely cosmestic but like hiding all my wires..

Good product, it works on my new LG G5 TV. Unfortunately the quite expensive G5 TV doesn't have USB3.0. My max ISP is 1Gb/s but apparently by USB2.0 the speed won't get much higher than 300Mb/s. The current speed is fine but I don't understand why LG (and other brands aswell) don't supply these expensive TV's with a decent(not much more expensive) 1Gb/s LAN connection. Now you would say WiFi6e of which the LG G5 supports is enough. And yes my routers do support 6e they even do WiFi7. But it isn't in some cases. For example if you wanne stream 4K60fps HDR content, which you recorded with your smartphone, directly to the TV it doesn't work. The video will buffer all the time or the bit rate will be scaled down a lot. When you connect the TV to the onboard 100Mb/s LAN connection the TV is just able to handle it. But now with this adapter it goes even better. My guess is WiFi6e still ain't Full-Duplex and UTP is and that apparently makes a big difference.

Umgeht das 100 Mbit Nadelöhr des verbauten LAN-Anschlusses. Netzwerkkabel in den Adapter und USB-Stecker in den USB3-Anschluss des Fernsehers (blauer USB-Eingang) ermöglicht ohne weitere Einstellungen volle Bandbreite des bei mir verfügbaren Internetzugangs. DSL250 mit Fritzbox - Internet Speedtest beim Sony jetzt 271 MBit im Download. Bravia Core in voller Qualität benötigt min(!). 80 MBit. Musste vorher teilweise bei den Bravia Filmen mitten im Film Pausetaste zum Nachladen drücken, da Aussetzer auftraten. Hat sich hiermit erledigt und die erhöhte Bandbreite kann auch bei den anderen Apps zumindestens nicht schaden. Startseiten, Trailer und Filme/Serien sind gefühlt schneller am Start. Endlich mal wieder ein Teil, welches ohne weiteres Zutun sofort funktioniert. Es gibt auch günstigere Anbieter, deren Adapter aber lt. diversen Sony-Foren nicht unbedingt mit dem A95L funktionieren. Habe diesen deshalb bestellt und es läuft. Preis passt für mich auch.

La verdad es que hace su función, pero por lo visto no con todas las TV, en mi caso funciona a la perfección. Yo veo muchas películas y series a través de plex, y antes con el Wi-Fi o con el cable directamente a la toma de Ethernet de la televisión tenía cortes siempre, fue instalar este adaptador USB y la estabilidad y la velocidad cambiaron radicalmente. Yo tengo una TCL y no he tenido ningún problema, sin embargo, mi vecino tiene una televisión LG. Se compró el mismo adaptador que yo y a él no le funciona, aseguraos de que es compatible con vuestra televisión. Realmente funciona con USB 3.0 y sistema operativo Google. Probado en TV SHARP con USB 2.0 y sistema operativo Google y no funciona, probado también en HISENSE y tampoco funciona.

ONN 4K Pro is Android and only supports USB 2 but it works perfectly at speeds greater than the internal 100Mbps port. Success!
