D'Addario Silk & Steel Acoustic Strings EJ40, 6-String, 11-47

Been finger picking for 60+ years and never tried these before. They are very good and shall use them in future (what's left of it). They are kind to your fingers, less resistance pressing down, sliding up the strings and bending notes easier. Don't miss them like I have. (I will try the Martin version next time.)

Bought these for accoustic guitar. They have lovely tone but were not really loud enough without amplification. I believe they are really meant for a nylon string guitar. They do have a lovely tone though.

Having struggled to find lighter gauge strings for a Taylor GS Mini these hit the sweet spot. I've found the shorter scale length has made the strings too tight to bend, especially as the guitar is set up for 12 and 13 gauge. Further, I've found the Taylor overly bright and was looking for a string to give a more mellow tone. I like my action very low and with other gauge strings managed as low as 1mm at top E 12th fret - yes, it can be done. Had to give the tiniest tweak to the truss rod to stop any buzz but these strings still manage about 1.5mm action. They have a lower tension, fuller sound and are wonderfully soft to the touch.

I prefer these strings to the standard phosphor bronze. They are slightly more mellow and produce considerably less string noise, even compared to the silk and steel strings which are suppose to produce less string noise that these flat tops. They are expensive compared to the others in the D'addario range but in my opinion, they are better strings.

These strings are surprisingly soft and supple. They feel like the string tension is significantly lower and definitely make life easier for the left hand (assuming you are a right handed player). They also have a beautiful mellow tone that works particularly well on my electro acoustic which can be a little on the bright and brash side. I'd thoroughly recommend them for anyone who who's looking for something a little easier on the fingers or who would like to turn the 'brightness' down a touch on their acoustic or electro.

Best acoustic strings I've tried in a while. I play electric with light gauge strings 90% of the time - these acoustic strings are much lower tension than most others I've tried and it's really easy to get around the fretboard. If I was gigging, not sure - noticeably quieter and less low end. But absolutely great for noodling around at home.

Great tone, great sustain, great playability, and very easy on the fingers. Can't put my Takamine down. Would highly recommend

These didn’t suit my guitar. I prefer Ernie Ball 80/20 silk and steel strings they are still easy to play but more powerful.

These are absolutely top notch strings. They provide a mellow sound on my Alverez slimline guitar

Ich habe eine Gitarre, die seither immer einen „harten“ Sound hatte. Deshalb habe ich auch schon zig Saiten gewechselt, aber nie die richtigen gefunden. Meine Überlegung war daher, diese Gitarre zu verkaufen, da ich überzeugt war, dass dies nicht nur an den Saiten liegen könne …. Ein Freund empfahl mir nun diese Saiten die ich auch gekauft habe. Innerhalb von zwei Tagen war die Ware dann auch da und die Gitarre neu besaitet. Optisch ein Hingucker und der klang ist einfach fantastisch! Gerne und mit absoluter Überzeugung kann ich diese Saiten empfehlen. Weich zu spielen und einen warmen klang. Die Bässe kommen zwar kräftig, aber nicht zu dominant und die „ hohen“ Töne klingen weich und ohne „scheppern“ …. Einfach nur schön ….

Wouahh! Ce jeu de corde est un pur bonheur pour les doigts et pour les oreilles. C'est doux, chaleureux presque intimiste. On pourrait jouer des heures dessus sans problème. Je recommande pour ceux qui cherche plus un côté chaleureux, intimiste et agréable sous les doigts.
