Solid Product - Dual Sport and Throttle Considerations
It is well built and works as expected once set up. The instructions took a little figuring out, but the slip-on pads made it easy to swap out and experiment. Two considerations before buying: 1. I have ProTaper Pillow Top grips, which have a large inner flange. The Atlas has a recessed area meant to fit around a smaller flange, so I had to trim the rubber for it to seat properly. 2. If your throttle housing has a raised center ridge it reduces the available mounting angles. For my setup, at wide open throttle the lock ends up forward of my thumbs reach a little, which is fine since I would never lock it there. I’ll check in after some longer trips to report on how well the lock holds given the vibration of the big thumper DR650.

Great Cruise Control Device for Motorcycles
I bought this throttle lock for my motorcycle to use on long trips. It works with friction to lock the throttle where your want it. It comes with four friction pads, so it should work on just about any motorcycle. It is high quality, made of medal and is easy to install. It's not cheaply priced, but at just under $170 it should work within any budget. The hardest part of installing was determining which friction pad to use. Just watch the videos that are available, and installation will be a breeze. I installed mine in less than an hour. It is also easy to use. Just use your thumb to engage, or disengage. It's not meant for use in city riding where there is a lot of changing gears, but it is great once you're cruising out on the open road. I recommend this product to others.

Mostly good, needs more pad options.
Works good and does what it’s supposed to on my 2012 sportster, but agree with other comments I’ve seen about needing half sizes on the rubber pads. The #3 was tight enough fit that it would cause the throttle to stick in certain spots while in the off position, but the #2 is a touch too thin. It works for the most part, but has light enough pressure on it that on rough roads it will slowly slip causing the bike to gradually slow down. I think an in between size would be perfect.

Not for me
Wanted to love this. Wasted my money on this after talking to these guys at a rally and was very excited about this product. I know it has worked for some people but the pad ended up sliced in half and rolled up in the area where it needs to be giving grip as needed. This caused me a weekend of incredible pain as i rode 300 miles with a sticky malfunctioning throttle. We had to tear it off before the ride home and ended up purchasing a thirty dollar throttle lock option that didnt stick in my throttle during a 600 mile round trip the first time using it. It hasnt caused me a single issue all season.

Quality Build & Simple to Install
Fairly easy to install. Comes in a top mount or bottom mount same price. I went with the bottom version to keep an uncluttered bar look. Once you achieve the needed clearance for the included friction pads super simple to install, just 1 fastener. My bike came with 1/16" between the grip flange & throttle housing. I contacted Atlas support got detailed helpful instructions emailed next day. Problem solved & device works as advertised! Like the on/off button controls. Some others were poorly designed and really obvious when installed. The Atlas looks "quality" and very unobtrusive visually. If you don't know what it is most just assume it came on the bike. Very happy with its function so my investment was well spent. Electronic controls are very pricey and you still have to install control switches. See photo for finished look. Note: you may have to adjust position to get it where you like it depending on how fast you intend to cruise. My first attempt was too far under at interstate speed. Works easy to engage at speed now.

Heavy - hard to get just right -updated
The unit is heavy and you feel that on the throttle. Positioning is everything, BMW F800GS Adventure (2014) A Lower mount kit does not work. It just does not fit and can get hung up the upper unit does fit but its a finicky fit. You have to get it tight enough it does not slip but not to tight so it does not pinch the throttle tube. On the F800 - thats like one very narrow opportunity. Tiny screw - the whole system hinges on a tiny screw. If it falls out, you lose your $135 dollar plus investment. First ride: All that said, it worked great and much simpler to operate than the Kako twist unit I've had on the bike for years. Unfortunately, first time out something slipped on the unit and it had popped lose and was just hanging on my throttle like a loose bracelet. The screw was still in, I removed it and have not had a chance figure out why it failed. So my journey has been - Upper unit, which did not fit and is in fact unsafe because it can stick, a lower unit balancing act between tight enough to not slip but not to tight as to pinch the throttle tube. The 30 minutes it worked it did work well, however, I'm wondering how reliable it will be when I do get it working. The unit build quality is excellent - but the design needs to be lighter and with design improvements for the friction pads and clamping mechanism. Update: As mentioned in other reviews, and it may depend on your vehicle, it is a finicky device to get just right on a BMW F800GSA. But I did it! Last summer I took a two week trip through the west on and off road and it held up. Then winter came and I turned on my heated grips, the throttle started sticking, without the cruise control set to on. note I could only get this to work with the thinnest friction pad & also note I am unwilling to cut my BMW heated grips for any custom fitting. Bottom Like - too much trouble on the 2014 BMW F800GS - probably unsafe.

Satisfied
Works as designed, easy action set and disengage works well. I tried lesser expensive products and was disappointed. This works for me

Have used this for 4 full seasons now, and it's still as good as ever. Never had any issues with it. Mounting it can be a paint depending on your bike. With my Hondas (it's been one 2x now), it can be tricky and needed some "modding" to fit without rubbing, but once it's setup, it's excellent. Nice and tactile, easy to get to with one hand, and holds the throttle quite well, granted I do at times have problems with it 'slipping' and losing speed slowly. That's more of a crappy roads issue usually and not a fault of the product per se. Regardless, I enjoy having it there to be able to whip the feeling back into the throttle hand when it needs, or to simply take the effort out of holding the throttle open when on the highway for a while.
